Guest guest
Wow…let me know where/if you find any as I’m in NH and not too far to make the trip J As far as mint goes – it grows rampant in NH. I gave my mom 6 plants that I pulled from my own and this year she’s already got a patch of it. Can’t tell you what type of mint it is…but it’s yummy and very prolific! Any ideas on what else I can use mint for? Lisa herbal remedies [herbal remedies ] On Behalf Of Pamela Tand Monday, April 12, 2010 9:13 PM herbal remedies Re: {Herbal Remedies} Ideal.. Seed swapping!!! Bryan, In about a month or so, we are going island hopping in Boston Harbor as well as wandering the Blue hills. I'm told as Hops was a staple crop around the time of the Revolution in this area they now grow wild. We are bringing a field guide to see what we can find in way of herbs and edible plants, if we come across some hops should I dig up some for you? They even farmed the smaller islands I can't wait to do this, that is my idea of a vacation! Also I cannot believe I cannot find any sort of mint seeds or plants in the Boston area?! Can't find Stevia either. Could buy it in Northern Vermont though! On Fri, Apr 9, 2010 at 4:10 PM, Bryan Shillington <bryan (AT) academyofnaturalhealing (DOT) com> wrote: Yes yes yes yes yes. Guest guest
Bryan, I didn't know that about Peppermint. I did find some spearmint seeds, NOT organic. I would love to do some trade. I am trying to do some research on harvesting the hops. I know we just bought some hops rhizomes (sp?) for the yard. I use some with the herbs, especially for headaches and such. My partner like to make beer every once in awhile. From what I'm finding is that it's better to grow from the rhizomes and not the seeds. But either way wouldn't be best to do these in the fall? I want to make sure it can be for optimum growing! Don't know why I hadn't thought of harvesting them from the wild for the yard! That would have been awesome, so much for impulse buying! Well off to do my business plan, I found the perfect place for my shop and at a reasonable price! Eventually besides my soaps and stuff I want to have an herbal shop! Watermint? never herd of this. just an FYI, loganberry is a hybrid fruit. A cross of rasberries and blackberries. I'd love some. Hops is a good all around herb and I want to grow some here in NC.That's odd that you can't find any mint in your area. Several kinds of mint grow wild around here. (Trade?)Keep looking. You'll find some. Mint loves a lot of water so you know where to look for it. Also... Peppermint was made by man, not nature. It is a cross between Spearmint and some other kind of mint.(brain fart...
