My husband used a BB gun and the gray

squirrel that we used to have moved on. Of course the husband was a pretty good

shot and it got tired of being hit (didn’t kill it obviously…but

hurt it enough to realize that “hey, this isn’t paradise”).

Now we get an occasional red squirrel

which aren’t as bad…and they are extremely territorial.

P.S. A slingshot might also work – I

use that on the Canada

geese to “remind” them that they are not wanted on my grass…and

for them to use the abundance of grass across the pond! It works (although in

the beginning you have to be at them quite diligently)

Does anyone know how to keep these

critters away?

I try to grow as much as I can in pots

and trays on my screened patio.

But growing sunflower seeds is

impossible. The squirrels ate holes in my screen to get in and make a mess out

of my trays every time. And I live in a condo on the second floor. I am so

frustrated. Any ideas from anyone what to do about that?

Thanks

Thanks for the reply to my squirrel question. Animals are not allowed in my condo .Therefore cats are out.

I never knew squirrels would come up 2 stories on a concrete wall, eat holes through the screen to get to my balcony to chomp on my planted sunflower seeds.

Lisa,

That reminded me of my hubby also shooting bbguns on the squirrel. But this

squirrel is smart. If it sees me, he pays no attention and totally disregards

me. If he sees my husband, he scampers away.
