Yes. I eat the eggs.

I have two kinds of quail that weigh 5-6 oz fully grown.

Quail will lay an egg per day and six eggs equal one chicken egg.

8 quail eat as much as one hen per day and quail start laying months

earlier.

The cute little quail eggs are painted with random spots and blots. It

takes about a dozen to make an omelet.

The males crow! It sounds like a cookie sheet, or a saw blade. Very

entertaining

Granny Pat,

I do have a couple of little Mulberry trees in my orchard. They

are not producing yet, too little. That's cool that my chickens will

eat the berries that fall. They eat the apples and pears that fall

now. Plus, I have actually watched the chickens jump to eat the grapes

off the vines! The Soil Conservation in my county has a tree sale

every spring. The trees are seedlings, but you can get like 5 Mulberry

for $7, so that is how I have started many of my trees and shrubs.

Plus, they are all native and that is important to me.

Brian,

What do you use the quail for? Do you eat the eggs?
