Guest guest
Hi, Bryan, as a member of a nursery family, I remember my husband mentioning that he had "put into the fridge" masses of sacks of nuts to keep them cold. Here we don't always have the needed chilling factor that helps some seeds accept the message that it is time to sprout. The ones you mention are from cold areas, that is the one best way to figure out what temps they need and how long the winter was. Then you do it with cold storage, or even in your refrigerator, if that's all you have. In fact, should you have a plant/shrub/tree that you are having trouble with growing, simply check to see where it came from. The easiest one to explain are the Cacti family, you know darn well that you don't water these like you would one from the rain forest!!! Guest guest
Thanks Granny, I'll try storing them in damp leaves out side and let the frost help. I figured it was a duh type answer. Thanks. ~B On 4/1/2010 12:33 PM, BSPMerced wrote: Hi, Bryan, as a member of a nursery family, I remember my husband mentioning that he had "put into the fridge" masses of sacks of nuts to keep them cold.
