A cure for squirrels = 1 nicely sized jack russell terrier in a fenced back yard...lol...don--- On Wed, 3/31/10, Robert Nodge <misguided_mortal_1970 wrote:Robert Nodge <misguided_mortal_1970RE: {Herbal Remedies} Re:Eat the weeds in Your Backyard!!!herbal remedies Date: Wednesday, March 31, 2010, 6:32 PM

Sure, I can send it to the list. Its pretty much prepared the same as if you were to use spinach, but in this case, its sorrel. You can saute onions and/or garlic, add some flour land some salt. Add a few tablespoons of milk. Then comes in the sorrel. Mix well on low to medium heat. Then as it is almost done, add some sour cream.

Now if you want the exact amounts of each item, I will have to get them from home. I am still at work til 7. So If you like I can type in the actual recipe.

Have you had sorrel before? Do you grow any or know of anyone? You can also find some in import stores. We have a Russian General Store near us who carries it. Though lately we have been growing it ourselves, along with parsley and dill. We also make a dill soufle very similar to the sorrel and spinach soufle. The dill soufle is one of my favorites.

As for fruit, we also have a grapefruit tree. We also had a peach tree, but we were in competition with the squirrels. They would grab them off our tree before they even ripen.

I forgot to mention that we do grow sorrel in the backyard. We just made souffle out of it this weekend.

was it a fenced yard?...and the terriers ran free?...then hold back on the food...did they chase them when they could?...I have heard great success stories w/ these dogs and squirrels...they do not climb trees = correct...but are tenacious and quick and have zero tolerance for 'intruders'...younger is better than older I would imagine...yes...one acre may require a 'herd' of terriers...lol...or a 'pack' of them...they need to experience success - so set out their food (far from any trees) and let them watch a squirrel eating it...the battle will begin...lol.d--- On Wed, 3/31/10, gabriele <gcliburn wrote:gabriele <gcliburnRe: {Herbal Remedies} squirrel cure

We now have a beagle and she would just chase them til they run up the tree. THis only last temporarily since our dogs have always been inside.

If you take long canes ( 2 1/2 ~ 3 ft long) w/ thorns of roses / raspberries and tie them around the tree the squirrels will have a hard time navigating up the trunk...also some sheet aluminum w/ grease / vaseline / spray pam on it they will slide back down into the hungry waiting jaws of your dogs...the dogs need to be out there consistently...to send a good message...or you can catch the squirrels in rat traps / catch alive traps and drown them in a lg trash can of water...heh...heh...I have had a bit of experience w/ these varmints...!!! our tenacity must over power theirs...Don--- On Thu, 4/1/10, Robert Nodge <misguided_mortal_1970 wrote:Robert Nodge
