Guest guest
Doc, I just found out Fri. my son has a Pilonidal cyst. Good grief it is one thing after another for us here. This is the same son I have asked you about before for his acne problem. I have done some research here about this b/c I had never heard of this horrible thing. I have a couple questions here. First of all Dr says he absolutely has to have surgery - it is pretty bad. He has him on Bactrim right now until we can get into a surgeon. Have you ever dealt with a cyst like this? (I saw your post on Baker's cyst) He first complained of this last summer but we thought it was just a boil so we treated it as such. We took him to the Dr clear back in Oct. and the Dr said it looked like it was healing and did not seem concerned. He has had several 'flare ups' which I now know is normal. This thing is really gross and he also a big hole which is referred to as a 'sinus'. 2nd Q - Do you think that this amount of infection could also be causing the acne problem? To some that may sound like a dumb question but I do not think it is. From the onset of his acne I have thought it was not just teenage acne. Seems if one has a serious infection that is left untreated as this has been for several months that it would come out other places. I am scared to death for my child to have this surgery - everything I have read says extremely painful. Kathy
