Question regarding the wintergreen oil in the deep tissue oil. Is this EO or just wintergreen oil. If it is just oil, can't I make it using the wintergreen plant?

Thanks

If Im not mistaken just oil and EO (essential oil) are one and the same.

Essential oils are pure oils with no fillers in them. No carrier oils. I know

the process of extracting oils from plants is tedious at best. Oils from seeds

are much easier (pressing) but we aren't talking seeds.

Someone else please confirm or deny.

Essential oils are extracted via distillation or solvents. They are the volatile

compounds of the plant. Carrier oils a obtained my pressing-such a olive oil-

and does not contain high amounts of volatile compounds. They are 2 different

compounds, like apples and orange-not interchangeable.

Wintergreen oil IS and Essential oil that must be diluted into a carrier oil.

You can not extract it yourself easily. If you have access to fresh plants you

may be able to infuse a carrier oil with it, but I don't know if enough would

infuse to produce benefits. You'd have to do some research and see if anyone has

has success.

Wintergreen oil is highly toxic. If you purchase the EO please keep it away from

children and pets, it is sweet tasting and too much can be fatal. 1oz can be

enough to kill an adult. When making an salve for tissue aches only a few drops

is needed per oz of oil. You also have to be careful if taking any aspirin or

related drugs.

Sorry to babel on, but this is something to be very careful with.
