Guest guest
yes...have heard of it before...but as they say the proof of it is in the doing...and having good results...the spots as some have said are often referred to as liver spots...so also thinking a dandelion tincture topically as well as internally - in addition to supporting the liver w/ milk thistle tincture would be good as well...d--- On Wed, 1/27/10, seer <1seer7 wrote:seer <1seer7Re: {Herbal Remedies} (unknown)herbal remedies Date: Wednesday, January 27, 2010, 10:15 AM really? Guest guest
Pat, You said you take dandelion tea, which part do you use, the roots or the stems? I got loads of them now in our yard, does anybody know if the unwanted dandelion weed in the yard is edible? My husband plucks them out and throws them when he is out there. Thanks. Guest guest
Dear Melly, The entire dandelion is usable. The root is best for the tinctures. The flowers, leaves and stems are great for teas. The Leaves taste awesome in Salads. Guest guest
I think the dandelions from your yard can be good to use...several things to consider...1) more distance from the road and its pollution is better than less...also 2) consider if you have pets possibly urinating on them...3) has there been chemical pesticides applied on the lawn?4) has there been petroleum based fertilizer applied to the lawn?5) are they near or 'over' a septic tank or drain field - especially if it is not working so well...ie gets mushy in spring or after a rain...Dandelions from a wild and untreated place is best...its almost like harvesting 'wildcrafted' weeds...perhaps there are other factors of concern some others could add...D--- On Thu, 1/28/10, Doc <Doc wrote:Doc <DocRe: {Herbal Remedies} danelion sap - liver spots - milk thistleherbal remedies Date: Thursday, January 28, 2010, 2:29 PM Dear Melly, The entire dandelion is usable. Guest guest
Gee D, I just moved to our new house recently. I know the back and side neighbor have dogs and they run loose in their yards. As to fertilizers, i don't know if they fertilized the grass since they were barely surviving when we bought the house. Also this place used to be a cattle ranch. What worries me is, what if there was a madcow right here on my plot???? All my greens would have it too!!!! It seems to have very fertile land (from mooo pooh?) as many plants/weeds just pop up and almost anything we plant survive.
