A long time ago I read in prevention mag that selenium would get rid of these. It said they were on your insides too. Confusing isn't it?

[sPAM] {Herbal Remedies} Re: brown spots --maybe lack folic acid

Hi, My understanding from "way back" at least to Adelle Davis .. 60's .. is that one gets the brown marks of pregnancy and when not pg. from lack of folic acid in the diet .. which can have tremendously bad implications for developing fetuses also. I refound that about a yr. or so ago when I was "researching" some pregnancy problems for an acquaintence, so it is still recognized as being a potential cause.

That said, my husband has had a lot of brown "age spots" on his arms which, when he or I is attentive to them, we can get to disappear in no time with a DMSO mix with aloe gel for moisturizer or with cocoa butter serving that purpose.

Yes, selenium deficiency, the use of vegetable oils, and often the lack of iodine will cause liver spots. If you google "selenium deficiency and liver spots" thousands of websites will come up, many showing selenium as the culprit.

"...‘How will they learn to read?’ you ask, and my answer is ‘Remember the lessons of Massachusetts.’ When children are given whole lives instead of age-graded ones in cellblocks, they learn to read, write, and do arithmetic with ease, if those things make sense in the kind of life that unfolds around them." – John Taylor Gatto
