Guest guest
This group is so well respected and is the first group that I look to when I need advice. Thank you for that, and for all that you do. Recently, my kid sister (28) has been diagnosed with diabetes. This morning, she lies in a hospital bed after an emergency surgery. She had a boil that tested positive as MRSA and had to be cut out. It's about the size of an adult fist and is now packed and draining. This boil is on her female organs. Her doctor told her this morning that these things will continue to happen to her, as her body is suffering from neglect. She has been diabetic for a while and has not taken care of herself. (Does anyone else have a stubborn sibling?) She also had been hospitalized twice last year for bouts of cellulitis (sp?). One episode resulted in a pic line (sp?) for a week to try and get it under control with harsh antibiotics. In a nutshell, my sister needs help. She is severely overweight and lives under a constant cloud of depression. She was told by the doctor that she is not to work and needs temporary disability. He told her that her diabetes is life-threatening and needs a regemin of 3 insulin shots a day to start, ( her blood sugar runs between 200 and 400) All this to say, could you please advise me on what to tell her? Besides fervently praying for my sister, I want to be pro-active in finding natural cures for this CURABLE disease. I understand that cinnamon helps keep sugar levels in check. I'm also aware that her diet needs to be altered drastically. Please educate me on how best to conquer diabetes. I will be doing other searching as well, but I need the wisdom that I've seen time and again from this group. Thank you, more than I can say. Blessings, Jacqui
Guest guest
a raw vegan diet does wonders for diabetis. but if you eat fruit, you must also eat veggies, to balance the glycemic load. it is a very hard diet to follow, but on the brite side, you can eat as much as you want, so are never hungry. it is hard to eat 1500 calories when it is all raw food. in 2005 i went on such a diet, and lost 132 pounds, my diabetis is completely in remission, much to the surprise of my doctor, who ran the A1c test 3 times in disbelief. i also have multiple sclerosis, and had just gotten a new wheelchair in 2005. in 2006, i walked a 5K and a 10K. yeah, the diet is amazing if yu can stick to it. if your sister would like to talk to someone who has gone through it, feel free to give her my email addy. jan j4leal <j4lealherbal remedies Sent: Sun, January 10, 2010 12:11:13 PM{Herbal Remedies} Sister in trouble This group is so well respected and is the first group that I look to when I need advice.
