MLM – NETWORK MARKETING

What is an MLM ???

Multi-Level Marketing (MLM), also known as Network

Marketing (the preferred name nowadays)

is a business distribution system that allows a parent company to

market their products directly to consumers by means of direct selling

and relationship referral (this

“relationship” can be family, religious, group, or any ethnic

connection). Independent unsalaried salespeople called “Distributors,

Associates, Independent Business Owners, Consultants, Independent

Agents, etc. etc etc.”,

represent the parent company. They are offered commissions based on

what they sell directly, plus they are promised a percentage or royalty

on the sales of those people they sign up as distributors below them,

and even more from the sales those distributors sign up as

distributors, hence the “multi-level” aspect of it all.

Question: Is this a good way to make a living and is it as easy to

make money as they promote that it is? Are these companies honest and

ethical? Are their products any good at all?

Answer: Some of them are OK and have common products at best, but ALL

of them are High-priced, Money-making Ventures.

But, what is the real downside of MLM's??? Read on.

#1. They offer promises of HELP and swear

to CHANGE THINGS FOR THE BETTER!

And yet in most cases, these promises are no more than another

money-making scheme. Most of them are just a Bill of Goods being sold

to the next sucker who comes along.

#2. All MLM’s claim to have some special, one-of-a-kind

formula that only they have, or that only they can get, and the only

way you can get this "magical", “super-duper” formula is through their

program. Many times in the past, I've taken the challenge and have

been able to either duplicate the formula myself, or was able to

purchase the exact same product elsewhere. Most importantly, every

time I investigated one of these schemes, I found them for the most

part to be far inferior to what I was already teaching others to do or

make for themselves. This leads me to:

#3. MLM products are very EXPENSIVE!!!

They need to pay a great deal to these “down-lines”, in order to keep

their money hungry Distributors happy. #2 is really

only a sales pitch to justify #3,

so that a few, very hard working Distributors, and of course the

Owners, get to make a ton of money. And the top Distributors DO work

their buns off, to make this great money. These boys at the top of the

pyramid do NOT do this in their spare time as is

always promoted. Also, as stated earlier, many of these products are

actually inferior and sometimes they are actually downright bad. The

major thrust is towards making money. How do I know about such

things??? I was in on the ground floor when an MLM called TradeNet was

being set up and incorporated, and when I discovered the unethical

behavior going on, I blew the whistle on it. I had even worked out the

math to make it an honest program, but the owners weren't interested,

preferring to push their con job. Believe me, I've done a very

thorough investigation of MLM's including having had talks with MLM

attorneys on the subject. It is an area I know very well.

#4. Almost always, MLM's will push the owner of the

company as being the most selfless holy man that ever graced the

surface of the planet. They place this ethical Saint on the right hand

side of God while he distributes his “ one-of-a-kind formula and

products” in apparent charity on the rest of mankind. As usual, the

bottom line for these dudes is the BUCK, and their generosity is, as

their product is, a total scam.

#5. Often times, many of the big distributors will use a

position or membership in a religious or ethnic group to push the

products of the MLM. They will use the beliefs or special words of

this religion as part of their pitch. We then get a TradeNet, or an

INMT (International Metals and Trade), or an Environmental Building

Products, etc. Every one of these scum bags used religious and / or

ethnic connections to push their schemes and to further line their own

pockets while promising "Big Bucks" to everyone else, but taking people

for the ride of their lives, and delivering nothing!!!

I’ve lost friends over this issue, and from what I’ve heard, businesses

and even families have broken up over these things. The number of cons

out there never ceases to amaze me and I have yet to see a truly

ethical MLM, especially in the Health field.
