I know what you're feeling. What my podiatrist used to tell me to do is

use hydrogen peroxide, and then.. This is going to hurt like HADES.

Take a tooth pick and stick a teeny wad of cotton under the nail. It

hurt for a couple of days, while I was training the nail.. but pretty

much I haven't gotten another ingrown toenail since. Also Try not

cutting so close to the skin when you trim your nails. Also if it's

caused by nails cracking, try taking B vitamins and use an orange stick

on your cuticles after you take a bath.

Hello spottedleaf_cat ---

From personal experience, I can highly recommend a $14.95 solution that works

like a charm.

It comes with a 100% money back guarantee, and the creator of the product Burt,

will be happy to answer any questions and even talk you through the application

if you need help. A wonderful and effective product, simple and easy to use.

One of my mothers remedies was: use a bread poultice - take any bread & soak in

very warm - to hot water - as hot as you can tolerate

for a minute & the put on affected area -

when nail is soft - take you nail clippers & make a V in the middle of the nail

- it relieves the pressure & the nail grows in a different way - not out - but

in

my brother had bad ingrown nails for a # of years still does this -

  • 1 year later...

I have heard that soaking the foot in a basin of water with liquid dishsoap helps...do this 3-4 times per day...at least that was recommended when I had a foster child that had an ingrown toenail, but refused to get it cut out but also refused to soak her foot as well.....

The wife of a podiatrist told me to do this:

Take a toothpick and gently shove as much cotton under the ingrown part of nail as you can. It will be very sore, but you only have to do this once. Then trim the nail in an inverted V shape. The edges are long, the middle is shorter. This will relieve pressure and help the nail to spread. Lastly, never cut the edges short. Let the be long enough to discourage the nail from growing in.

Soak feet until nail is bit soft, gently lift ingrown nail and put rolled up

cotton. Leave there and change after every shower. This will teach the nail to

grow outward.

This is horribly painful, but I just slide my finger nail underneath it and pull

it up. Then I spray with colloidal silver. The pain is usually lessened

greatly within a day and gone within 2. Then I'm VERY careful how I trim my

toenails.

Soaking in epsom salts or healing clay might help before doing this.
