Guest guest
My husbands back goes out about every 3 months. Usually it happens after doing heavy work like unloading hay bales or moving furniture, but sometimes it is just from bending over. When this happens he is in extreme pain and his right leg becomes very weak. He goes to his doctor who give him a shot of something and an RX for Soma and Naproxen. It takes about a week before he is able to move without pain or bend over. He doesn't want to just treat the symptoms when it happens, but stop the problem from happening. I have suggested a chiropractor. My thought is that he has a displaced disc pinching a nerve. Is there any herbal treatments to use instead of the prescriptions and any suggestions for possibly getting to the base of the problem? He is 48,in good health otherwise and is not overweight. Thank you in advance, Michelle
Guest guest
I absolutely love my chiropractor. I think that he's going straight to heaven. I HIGHLY recommend going to a chiropractor ASAP. Arnica - homeopathy might help with the pain too. Lynne
Guest guest
Check the files for the "back in action" file. A chiropractor, a good one, will do him much more good than a doctor giving him drugs for the pain. Sheila jabaldja wrote: My husbands back goes out about every 3 months. Guest guest
You are on the the right track. Getting to the cause is seeing a chiropractor. See one that is into wellness ...not just relief care. in health CJ --- On Wed, 11/18/09, jabaldja <Petagoatjunction wrote: jabaldja <Petagoatjunction{Herbal Remedies} Back problemsherbal remedies Date: Wednesday, November 18, 2009, 9:21 AM My husbands back goes out about every 3 months. Guest guest
Hello. There are many herbs that can be used for pain and for nerve problems, but with the back issue it is almost always a matter of the incorrect muscles being used. There's a wonderful, cheap paperback book out called Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. I usually find them in the used book stores, too. The 'exercises' are actually nothing more that specific stretches. When a person first starts doing them it can take up to 40 minutes before relief is felt, but if you continue to do these stretches every day, this time should shorten down to about 10 minutes. They should be done first thing in the morning so that the effect lasts all day. Eventually (usually no more than a few weeks) the body will relearn to use the correct muscles and the back problems disappear. The book is listed for various parts of the body, so that a person can start with stretches specific to that area--such as shoulders, back, knees, etc--and once the correct muscles are being used again, then you go on a maintenance program for support of the whole body. You can also go to www.egoscue.com and read about it there. They do have a way where you can take photos of your husband, upload the photos, pay the consultation fee and they will determine exactly which exercises he needs. But I've found that the book pretty much covers all the common problems without having to go through a consultation. Good luck. Guest guest
Use the BF & C (Bone, Flesh, & Cartilage) formula along with the Deep Tissue Repair Oil. These formulas are great! Both can be found in the Files section. I believe that the Organic Solutions Store has the Deep Tissue Repair oil. I have had a very weak knee that would 'go out' on me without warning. I have been using these formulas for a couple of weeks now and my knee is getting stronger every day. herbal remedies , " jabaldja " <Petagoatjunction wrote: > > My husbands back goes out about every 3 months. Guest guest
Michelle, For pain and healing get him Doc's Deep Tissue Repair Oil and the BFC Formula. This stuff is amazing. Get him on Total Nutrition and Body Balance also to give the body all the nutrients he needs to heal. He should see a Chiropractor to help with initial realignment if needed, but to keep him in shape I highly agree with Renee about the book and technique in Pain Free by Pete Egoscue. This book will help him understand why this has occured in the first place and help him to restore health to his muscles and joints. Once you understand from reading the book that the muscles in the body are really a large pulley system, you begin to see why too much or too little tension in one area of this system will wreak havoc and further misalignment. The real beauty of the book is that you can restore "muscle memory" and proper alignment of the joints ! I have had very good results using these techniques after a car accident. Now I am ready to strengthen , finally ! Mary jabaldja wrote: My husbands back goes out about every 3 months. Guest guest
He saw a DC on Wed and will go back today. It helped tremendously. My husband is very anti-MD and really liked her. She even did a physical that was fairly involved. I have ordered the book from the library and it should be in by tomorrow. I will see if the recipe is in the files for the DTR oil and the BFC, otherwise I'll call the office. Thank you for all your help. He is walking much better already and doesn't look like a broken down old man.
