Guest guest
Hello all, I could really use help. In early first trimester diagnosed with high blood pressure (was borderline at one point but returned to normal). Was given a prescription for Aldomet (500mg) to treat the HBP. Did a little research on Aldomet and though it is " safe " for pregnancy, there are contraindications including liver damage. Diet is admittedly not 100% " clean " but is not close to " SAD " either. Cook with a lot of fresh herbs, do consume chicken, egg whites, and veggies (in fact there are two meatless days per week). Rarely eat beef or pork. Water intake is around 80oz a day. No coffee, non-smoker. What practical things can I do now to help bring the HBP down and avoid being on Aldomet for the duration of the pregnancy (I'd rather not start it but have to go back in two weeks for a check-up)? When I was borderline I was doing 2 cayenne and fresh lemon in water " drinks " per day and 2 fresh garlic cloves per day. (I don't have a lot of spare change but I am willing to splurge for my health) Please help! Thanks in advance
