Enzymes in Pineapple

I have a question for the Doc about pineapples.

Doc tells us we can get all the digestive enzymes we need from raw pineapple and

dried papaw seeds and I have been trying to do this. We have some wonderful

sweet pineapples here at the moment but they are the " acid-free " ones.

My question is whether these pineapples actually have enzyme benefits or do they

have to be the acidic ones to get the enzymes?

Thanks!

Hi Don

I don't buy the pawpaw seeds. I buy organic papaw, scrape out the seeds and set

them on some waxed paper in a sunny spot for a few days to dry out. Once dry, I

put them in a pepper grinder and grind them over veggies, salads etc instead of

pepper. Then we eat the papaw! :)

Love the information about pawpaw seeds. My husband and I went out into the

woods on our property this morning and picked up a bag of pawpaws. The seeds are

drying now on the back porch. What do ground pawpaw seeds taste like?

Hi Donna

They have a light peppery taste but you don't even notice it on your food. The

info about the pawpaw seeds and the pineapple is in Doc's File Section on this

. It sure beats spending a fortune buying digestive enzymes! :)

Thanks Karen. I looked in the files section and could only find information

about papaya and pineapple. Then I realized that sometimes carica papaya is

referred to as papaw. I misundertsood. My pawpaw seeds are the size of lima

beans. Oh well, we had a good time on our walk through the woods with the dogs.
