I'm coughing up a lot of phlegm and tmi but sometimes it gets stuck in my throat/ nasal passage and I have to suck it out and spit it out!! It literally makes me gag everytime and I can't go anywhere because I'm doing this constantly!

What can I do to dry this up?

Also I need to make an onion poultice for my painful ribs and I lost the email with the directions. Also how does this work?

Thanks in advance!

Onion Poultice

2 medium yellow onions, sliced into thin rings

a bit of olive oil

In skillet, place a bit of oil (less than a tablespoon) and the onions broken up into individual rings. Cook on a slow to medium heat until the onions are opaque and a few are beginning to brown. Fish onions out of pan and place directly onto paper towels, then immediately place in center of a thin (flannel works well) 12"x12" cloth, close up and place on area that feels infected (chest or throat). Lay on skin as hot as you can stand it without burning yourself (be careful as this can cause 1st and 2nd degree burns from the oil in onions!), and I place a towel over my chest to help keep warm longer and to keep from getting a draft. Leave on for one hour minimum. If longer, reheat or add another poultice while the old one is heated in oven.

How does this work? I don't really know. I just know that we use this on any lung ailment such as a tight chest, pleurisy, bronchitis, and pneumonia. Also on infected ears. We have had wonderful results.

My grandma healed my uncle in 1945 (as a young baby born that same year) who had pneumonia (she made 4 poultices, two each for back and chest, and two to heat while using the others) and it took applying these poultices for hours on end until the symptoms broke (wheezing, rattling, coughing, etc), but break it did, and he lived to be 18 years old, then he died in a motorcycle accident.

*You obviously do this without a shirt on.

*You can make two or even several so you can have these to exchange or to place on more than one area if dealing with bronchitis or pneumonia.

*One on chest and one on throat would help tremendously.

*We've used this successfully to pull out infection from inner ear infections in children (works overnight along with olive oil mixed with essential oils of lavender, eucalyptus, and ti tree).

I hope you get to feeling better.
