My cat has Urinary Tract problem

Does anyone know what I can give my cat for urinary tract problem. He is peeing in my floor instead of his litter box. He is 14 years old I use to give him dry cat food for this (urnary tract food) but he has lost all of his teeth and can't eat dry food so I give hin can food now. That is when he started peeing in the floor . I have watched him and when he starts to do this I put him in his litter box but he will not go. I put feline urinary support in his food but that doesn't work. He was fine on the dry food but when I switched he started it. I don't have the money to take him to the vet they cost so much. Can any one help

I have given my cat cranberry leaf extract before when he had a UTI. I opened up a capsule and mixed it in his food. I did this for a week until all symptoms were gone. I never tried the olive leaf extract, but you might try some of this and see how he reacts to it.

Morning,

I had an older kitty with a kidney problem who had the symptoms you

describe.

We gave her Echinacea Plus tincture and the Kidney Bladder tincture .

It cleared it up for her within 5 days.

We had to adjust the dosage for her size of course.

You could also try organic fresh parsley tea. It is in the Kidney

tincture and can work wonders on it's own.

I also ground up a small amount of parsley, garlic and carrot and mixed it in her with her wet food, that food being very high quality canned and dry food from my local health food store. Make sure the cat has plenty of fresh water to drink. Make sure the litter box is cleaned often.

This lets the digestive system a chance to rest and helps reduce acidity. I

also ground up a small amount of parsley, garlic and carrot and mixed it in

her with her wet food, that food being very high quality canned and dry food

from my local health food store. Make sure the cat has plenty of fresh water

to drink. Make sure the litter box is cleaned often.

Barb you sound very knowledgable about cats. Do you give your cats raw

meat? I've heard that's best for them. I live with my mom and she has a

mother and 1 daughter and 2 sons she had 4-5 years ago. I have a 9 yo cat

and her only eats can food or he regurgitates it everytime. Now her son

Stripe, the Mau colored cat and his brother seem to be getting tired of

canned food and they want their dry back and it's not quite as good for

them. Why do some cats get bored with their food? They seem to be

regurgitating less.

I have a couple of books on Natural Pet Care and I believe they have saved me from a ton of vet bills. Yes, raw meat is best but I am too lazy to go that route. I found a fish, chicken and liver combination canned food at the health food store and have never known a cat to tire of it, though they do tire of the other flavors in that line. Having said that the ideal diet for a cat is as follows;

1/2 cup yogurt or keifer, 1/8 tsp essential fatty acid (like Udo's oil), 1 tbsp fresh raw carrot juice, 1 pinch unrefined salt, 1/4 lb raw chicken, liver included when possible(organic free range), 1 tbsp minced fresh green (chard, kale etc.),1 tsp pureed raw carrots, peas, beans or other veggie. Combine and warm slightly

Parsley and garlic are always helpful and I do try to add them in regularly, especially if any sign of illlness is present.

I also use a dry yeast/garlic supplement (which I purchase premade) with both meals and have not a flea problem since adding that to my cats diet.

I personally feed my cats once in the morning and once in evening (only as much as they consume in a 15 minute period) with only water in between. The evening meal is wet food and the morning meal is dry.

since we have so many cat folks on here.. what would be a good herbal supplement? salve? rub?.. for an older cat who's starting to move a bit slow with arthritis setting in?  He's 16 and no health issues other than he is getting older.
