Hello,

My son is one year old and he is still nursing. I may need to go back to work

part time and I am looking for a milk subsitute. I have tried the barley formua

and he doesn't seem to like it. He will drink a little bit of almond milk now

and then. Does almond milk have enough fat in it for him to have every day? He

can't handle soy either and I don't feel comfortable giving it to him anyway. I

have not tried other milks with him because of his age and the fact that he has

digestive problems. Any one have any ideas?

Kris

PUMP!!!!! It is time-consuming, but OH so worth it! There are herbs and EO's that can help increase supply to help you do that. I found a good quality Fennel EO that was safe to ingest. I filled empty capsules with it and took a couple of capsules at night before bed. When I took enough of it, I would wake up almost *new-baby* engorged!I don't believe children need any specific form of milk other than MOM's milk. The fat levels can be acheived by eating foods that are naturally high in good fats. Fish, avocado, olives to name a few.Another option is if you can find a good source of raw goats' milk. Goat's milk is molecularly almost identical to human milk.Ingrid"Be one more

I had low milk supply for one of my babies and supplemented with goats milk. My

Dr. had me add a crushed tablet of Vit B 12 and a capsule of DHA to it. Goats

milk also needs folic acid.

Be warned, your baby might grow up with a stubborn streak from all that goats

milk. Mine did! :)

Here's what the Weston A. Price says about goats milk for babies:

Although goat milk is rich in fat, it must be used with caution in infant

feeding as it lacks folic acid and is low in vitamin B12, both of which are

essential to the growth and development of the infant. Inclusion of nutritional

yeast to provide folic acid is essential.
