Guest guest
I have a question that I thought you all could help with. I know someone who lost 120 pounds in the last 5 months. I asked her how she did it and she said B12 shots and hormone HCG. That makes NO sense to me at all. Does anyone here have any insight?TIA,Anella
Guest guest
This from Wikipedia Weight loss A controversial usage of hCG is as an adjunct to the British endocrinologist Dr. A.T.W. Simeons' ultra-low-calorie weight-loss diet.[7] Simeons, while studying pregnant women in India on a calorie-deficient diet, and “fat boys” with pituitary problems treated with low-dose hCG, discovered that both lost fat rather than lean (muscle) tissue. He reasoned that hCG must be programming the hypothalamus to do this in the former cases in order to protect the developing fœtus, and proceeded to use low-dose daily hCG injections (125 mg) in combination with a customized ultra-low-calorie (500 cal/day, high-protein, low-carbohydrate/fat) diet to help obese adults lose dramatic amounts of adipose tissue without loss of lean tissue, at a Salvator Mundi International Hospital in Rome, Italy, clinic mainly for celebrities. After Simeons’ mysterious death, the diet started to spread to specialized centers and via popularization by such as the controversial popular author Kevin Trudeau (search for hCG in that article for more details). The controversy proceeds from warnings by the Journal of the American Medical Association[8] and the American Journal of Clinical Nutrition[9] that hCG is not safe,[8] indeed ineffective, as a weight-loss aid[10] on its own; yet its usage as cited above to increase testosterone production contradicts this assertion, since much late-life male obesity is associated with estrogen dominance and deficient testosterone in the mis-named, so-called andropause.[citation needed] Furthermore, in the Simeons protocol, it is, as in any diet, the ultra-low-calorie component (caloric deficit) that results in weight loss, if the protocol is followed strictly.[citation needed] hCG’s role is supposedly to trigger the hypothalamic lean-protection mechanisms Simeons thought he saw, thus promoting mobilization and consumption ofabnormal, excessive adipose deposits, while protecting normal adipose and lean tissue from being consumed, with the assumption that these protective hypothalamic mechanisms exist in males as well as females, to be acted upon by hCG.[citation needed] jarusso7 wrote: I have a question that I thought you all could help with. Guest guest
The HCG diet is the one outlined in Kevin Trudeau's book *The weight Loss Cure THEY don't want you to know about*. Apparently it really WORKS! In the book, it outlines the diet. I was a little leary of it after reading through it. The first 2 days, all you do is take the HCG shot (this is the hormone that pregnant women create). After the first 2 days, you change your diet greatly. Your first 2 meals are tea and tea (you have your choice of a few certain types of tea), then you eat an ATKIN's Style dinner. Of course, it's supposed to be organically raised, hormone-free, but still a lot of meat. This goes on for weeks...everyday taking this shot of HCG hormone. I really like the idea of it working, but it scares me to be taking a hormone that my body isn't naturally creating on it's own. I don't think it's what God (Nature, The Universe, you fill it in) intended. Ingrid herbal remedies , " jarusso7 " <jarusso7 wrote: > > I have a question that I thought you all could help with. Guest guest
My understanding is that if you take a hormone, whether natural or not, rather than something that'll stimulate your body to produce more of it's own, that'll your body will gradually stop making it on it's own since another source is now available... Am I mistaken? What happens when you reach your target weight?Do you take "breaks"? herbal remedies From: ninimom24Date: Thu, 17 Sep 2009 01:07:17 +0000{Herbal Remedies} Re: my wierdo "friend" The HCG diet is the one outlined in Kevin Trudeau's book *The weight Loss Cure THEY don't want you to know about*. Guest guest
I agree with you about the HCG shots. I also don't agree with the Atkins diet as it is too high in protein. Protein is good but in the proper balance with the other nutrients.--Glenda--- On Wed, 9/16/09, ninimom24 <ninimom24 wrote:ninimom24 <ninimom24{Herbal Remedies} Re: my wierdo "friend"herbal remedies Received: Wednesday, September 16, 2009, 9:07 PM The HCG diet is the one outlined in Kevin Trudeau's book *The weight Loss Cure THEY don't want you to know about*. Guest guest
Not only that, but they did experimenting with hCG in vaxes and use it to cause infertility. Your body sees that as a foreign intruder and attacks hCG, and can lead to miscarriages. I wouldn't mess with hormones at all. Just support and cleanse. Eat right. Trust your body. Guest guest
I completely agree. That's what I've understood too. That's why I said I'm quite leary of it.After I read through the protocol of the diet, I stopped reading the book. I was no longer interested at that point. I think you continue the diet until you reach your target weight and then you eat a modified diet. Of course it's not the typical American diet. You have certain guidelines...only organic, no chemicals, etc. But within those numerous guidelines, you eat whatever you want. There is a protocol (very extreme IMO) for if your weight starts to increase again.I re-read the diet (I'm getting ready to sell the book, so it's still on my shelf). I was wrong when I said only tea for the first 2 meals. It's tea for the first meal and then an Atkin's-like diet with tea for lunch and dinner. Of course, the Atkin's part is modified even from what Dr. Atkins outlined.Ingrid"Be one more blind follower of the blind, and you will have the oblivion you desire."Bliss Carman1861-1929, Poet--- On Wed, 9/16/09, Ranie Jordan <raniejordan wrote:Ranie Jordan <raniejordanRE: {Herbal Remedies} Re: my wierdo "friend"herbal_remedies Date: Wednesday, September 16, 2009, 9:54 PM My understanding is that if you take a hormone, whether natural or not, rather than something that'll stimulate your body to produce more of it's own, that'll your body will gradually stop making it on it's own since another source is now available... Guest guest
Exactly...We all know what happens when women (or men) infuse their bodies with artificial hormones, so why would this be any different?Ingrid"Be one more blind follower of the blind, and you will have the oblivion you desire."Bliss Carman1861-1929, Poet--- On Thu, 9/17/09, jarusso7 <jarusso7 wrote:jarusso7 <jarusso7Re: {Herbal Remedies} Re: my wierdo "friend""Herbal Remedies" <herbal remedies >Thursday, September 17, 2009, 8:49 AM But there's got to be downside to a woman who is not pregnant infusing her system with a pregnancy hormone. Guest guest
I would so totally stay away from anything requiring shots of hormone.
