Hi Doc, Valorie, Bryan, Kelly, and Mary,

My neice wrote me the following question:Do you know why the government has ordered all but one manufacturer to stop producing morphine? This is very inconvenient for hospitals.....and expensive. Connie

My neice, Connie, is a nurse and she has somehow gotten this information and asked me about this as she knows I follow trends in healthcare, etc.

Are any of you aware of this mandate or what is going on? I plan to look into this, but thought perhaps someone on this board might know. I personally have not heard about this and am uaware of this mandate.

Thanks~

Lori

Lori,

This is the first I have heard about it. Very weird.

Hi Mary,

My neice does not go back to work until next week when she will find out what company has the monpoly and see if she can find out anything more. She lives and works in Findlay, Ohio. I have tried an Internet search and nothing has come up. I am wondering if perhaps this hospital where my neice works contracted with the pharmaceutical company. Anyway, I may not know anything until next week, and when I do, I will post. In the meantime, if anyone else hears of anything I would be interested.

Thanks~
