Anytime I am itchy from anything, I use organic coconut oil. It seems to always work for me.

I got a minor chemical burn yesterday, and it almost instantly relieved it.

The best (only, really) thing I've found that works at all, other than

time, is Bach's Rescue Cream (from the Rescue Remedy people). The

sooner after exposure it's applied, the faster it seems to work. Take

care to avoid repeated exposure to skin that's already experienced sun

poisoning - it seems to be more sensitive to repeated injury.

CUCUMBERS!!!! Thinly sliced cucumbers applied to the affected areas works wonderfully! Also, Prickly pear cactus and fresh aloe vera. These are the all-time best for skin burns.~kelly~Debra Garrett <debralgarrettherbal remedies Sent: Tuesday, August 18, 2009 5:07:00 PM{Herbal Remedies} RE: Sun poisoning (itching)

And vanilla. The kind you have in your kitchen. Works better than aloe vera.

More storage. Better anti-spam and antivirus protection. Hotmail makes it simple.

This is so much different than treating a reg. sun burn. Last year my grandson got a sun burn and it just didn't seem any worse than any before. I always have loads of natural things to use but he itched so badly on his chest that he was actually in pain and was writhing on the floor. I finally had to take him to the ER where he got a shot and some medication.

Let us know if any of the things mentioned here stopped the itching.

Same thing happened with my 13 yo son.

After I got his sunburn cleared up he has had severe acne ever since. The Dr says it didn't have anything to do with it but I think it did. Derm Dr wants to put him on Accutane but I say NO WAY! He has what looks almost like boils - new ones pop up everyday all over his back and chest - exactly where the sunburn was.
