Guest guest
Evenin' everyone! I just bottled up my Total Tonic. I let it sit a " bit " longer than 2 weeks in the jar before I finally got around to pressing it. Okay, okay, I waited 12 weeks. Yikes. It doesn't smell rancid, just really really strong! My children are happy I pressed it because they don't have to take a spoonful of it anymore, they can chase it with juice. Ha! I'm such a mean mom, but I have healthy children! My question is, how long will this stuff stay okay to drink? Does it have a shelf-life? Should I store it in the refrigerator? I used the turmeric so it is very very strong. Next batch, I think I'll leave that one out. I have a feeling my children won't mind it too much without that " strong " taste in there! We're in the middle of a thyme tincture batch right now. We harvested all of our organic thyme from the garden last week so we'll have plenty of thyme tincture for coughs this flu season. We're happy about that. Anything we can do to keep healthy in this uncertain world. Thank you for any advice about the Total Tonic. And thank you so much for this great group. I have learned so much! Blessings, Jacqueline
Guest guest
Jacqueline, It is great that you are making your own Total Tonic. It stores for a very long time so don't worry. Just keep it in a cool dark place. You are very welcome. Mary O j4leal wrote: Evenin' everyone! I just bottled up my Total Tonic. Guest guest
Jacqueline, Years ago, I made some garlic soup with about 5 garlic heads, a whole cayenne pepper, chicken broth, and some Mediterranean herbs. I gave some to my brother. He loved it. He put one of the jars on his windowsill at work and forgot about it. We found it about one year later while moving the office, and opened it. No fungus, and he tasted it, and said it was hotter, but good. While I prefer my Total Tonic fresh, I would think it would last for several months.Diane - j4leal herbal remedies Saturday, August 15, 2009 6:02 PM {Herbal Remedies} I have a Total Tonic Question or Two!
