Guest guest
A friend has a dog problem-it's loosing hair from it's rear end. Have tried a number of food alternatives and all she lost is weight. Could it be something in the back yard she's getting into? Guest guest
You didn't say how old the dog is, but I have a neighbor who had had to bring her son's dog home from NC to live here in Ohio around 12 or so years ago (the dog is long deceased now) as the dog (a collie) was allergic to the grass in NC! His name was Hank, and Hank had lost a lot of his hair, but once in Ohio it all came back over a few months. Anytime the dog returned to NC for any length of time the hair would fall out and so he ended up living the last 6 years of his life here in Ohio. I don't know if this is the problem, but it could be. How do they test dogs for allergies? Is it the same as for people? Just wondering in case anyone knows..... Guest guest
I would have the dogs thyroid checked and also dogs that have a systemic yeast infection will lose hair. What is the dog eating? When were the last vaccines given? Could be vaccine related. Sherry On Jul 27, 2009, at 12:20 PM, Kathy wrote: > Allergy to something. Guest guest
Get the dog checked for diabetes. Cats often lose hair on their legs and weight when they have diabetes I think dogs are the same. - Tracy herbal remedies , Mary Ostrowski <mary wrote: > > > It sounds like parasites of some kind to me. > Mary O > > sgreal_estate wrote: > > > > > > A friend has a dog problem-it's loosing hair from it's rear end. Guest guest
I can tell you what worked for my cat. He lost EVERY hair on his hind quarters. From the middle of his back, on BOTH sides down his hind legs. Not on his feet though (Looked like he had boots on). A friend of mine who is an Herbalist told me that he proably had fleas and he was allergic to them. She suggested to put Distilled White Vinager in his drinking water. We put 1 TBS per 3 GALLONS of water so ALL the animals got this treatment. So if there were ANY Fleas we would get them ALL!!!! We have been doing this for about 2-3 months and he actually has hair growing again!!!! Nobody has fleas and I don't have an odd looking Half Long Haired and Half Bald Cat!!!! It is worth a try.
