I make my own tooth polish which has completely relieved my sensitive teeth.I use 4 tablespoons of baking soda to 1 teaspoon ground cloves and 1 teaspoon rubbed sage -- my teeth are greatly cleaned and no more sensitivity!!!!That's the recipe I started out with, now i just pretty much dump in about 4 to 1 amounts of the ingredients and make larger batches when I make it.Bobbie SmithMercurius Trismegistus

Rubbed sage is the spice~it is how it is sold. It is rubbed rather than powdered.

Thanks Lori! I had never heard of rubbed sage. I had only heard of the powered kind. I sure hope the co-op has something called"rubbed sage" . I have no idea what it would look like.....but am guessing it is a creme or ointment?

Rubbed sage is dried sage rubbed in your palm until it becomes a rough powder or

flake; I dry my sage and keep it in an airtight jar until I need it and then I

just rub it in my palm to release the flavors and break up the leaves and stems.

Rubbing it just before adding to a recipe keeps the strength in the leaves; once

it is broken up it loses it strength over time. Keeping an herb in natural form

helps it retain it's properties, this includes keeping it in airtight, dark

containers away from heat. If you do not want to dry them you can preserve them

in olive oil or vinegar. Freezing is okay if you can vacuum pack it to prevent

the air from freezer burning the herb.
