Guest guest
In the past when i have had a cold/flu i have been told that anti biotics do not work on viruses and that i should take bed rest, vitamin c, pain killers etc. Then i was later told that viruses can become resistant to antibiotics which is why its better to get well using your bodies natural defenses rather than relying on antibiotics unless complications occur, then antibiotics are needed when the body is unable to fight off the infection. If in the UK the media says swine flu is 'relatively mild' and only one person has died due to other complications, then why are people with swine flu being given antibiotics straight away? Would this be needed as it is 'mild' apparently? and what if it becomes more virulent later in the year and becomes resistant because of the antibiotics that have been dished out for these relatively mild cases? Something doesn't add up to me.Are the government lying about the severity of swine flu in UK or are they wanting swine flu to become resistant to tamiflu? Either way dead people don't pay taxes and its in a countries best interests to keep its population well enough to work and pay taxes to make the governments more powerful.
