Guest guest
I work with a co-worker who was recently diagnosised with Neuropathy. She is in extreme pain and she is walking on the side of her foot (because it doesn't hurt as much that way) but it is affecting her hip joint now and causing other issues. Pain meds don't seem to help much. Is there anything she can do?? Reg doc just said get ready to be in a wheelchair. Desiree N.

Guest guest
tell her to try to roll a tennis ball with the bottom of her feet . the round shape of the tennis ball , fits nicely into the " corners " of the feet . many nerve endings , triggerpoints and foot reflexology are located all over the feet . also rolling the ball will stretch and relax muscles and tendons . put pressure on as she is able to stand it . just keep rolling the ball . tennisballs are cheap , less than 2 $ at walmart for 3 gab dm1girl wrote: > > > I work with a co-worker who was recently diagnosised with Neuropathy. > She is in extreme pain and she is walking on the side of her foot > (because it doesn't hurt as much that way) but it is affecting her hip > joint now and causing other issues. Guest guest
I understand fully, I've been in wheelchair for 5 years because of the same thing. I'm taking 6 different medications that do help some. Would certainly appreciate any information for something Natural. http://tech.fiftyplusandkids/ SeedTrains ChampaignCountyProduceExchange/ ChampaignGardeners --- On Tue, 6/16/09, dm1girl <dm1girl wrote: dm1girl <dm1girl{Herbal Remedies} Neuropathyherbal remedies Date: Tuesday, June 16, 2009, 10:43 PM I work with a co-worker who was recently diagnosised with Neuropathy. Guest guest
I would recommend Nerve Support Formula from the Wellness Support Network. You can read about neuropothy and purchase the product here: http://www.mcvitamins.com/neuropathy.htm There is also a number to call if you have any Q's about it. I take this product and their cal-mag for neuropothy. For the pain, I recommend Doc Shillington's Nerve Formula. It's better than pain meds without side effects. A massage therapist can help a lot, esp a Chinese trained therapeutic healer. Both my Chinese masseuse & chirocpractor told me to get some accupuncture but I haven't gotten any yet so I can't say it works or not. I was told not all are alike so to make sure to get an excellent one with good recommendations. Avoid electrical pulse therapy as it was horrible. It made all my nerves twitch all night and was far worse than the pain. herbal remedies , " dm1girl " <dm1girl wrote: > > I work with a co-worker who was recently diagnosised with Neuropathy. Guest guest
OH BS for the MD!!!I have neuropathy in both feet and calves. I took care of it by taking massive doses of Neurontin and Desipramine. Your Doc is in the dark ages.I finally had to have a neural stimulator implanted for my right knee pain after four surgeries and five arthroscopies. It takes care of the neuropathy also... No I do not have anything nice to say about Doctor's. My local Naturepath is nothing to brag about either, will not stand up to Doc Shillington in knowledge...-- LoveBobAdageyudiStaya Udanvti ***************************************************************On Tue, Jun 16, 2009 at 8:43 PM, dm1girl <dm1girl wrote: I work with a co-worker who was recently diagnosised with Neuropathy. Guest guest
I would like to suggest trying CranioSacral Therapy. It is a very gentle message therapy that works to align the spine and it helps numerous nerve issues. I recently suggested it to a fellow employee and she said she feels like a new person, lots of aggrevating maladies resolved, mostly undiagnosed pains. I tried it 10 years ago and upon leaving thought to myself that I had just wasted $80 and an hour of my time. UNTIL that night when I went to bed and noticed that the 20 year old kink in my neck was gone and the outside area of my left knee was no longer numb. The next day, I felt lighter and walked straighter and working on my feet, no longer caused leg pain. The results have been permanent. I don't know if it will help neuropathy, but I think it is well worth a try even if it only will help to relieve some symptoms. Here is a link to help you find a therapist in your area. http://www.amtamassage.org/findamassage/locator.aspx Diane A VETERANWhether on active duty, retired, national guard or reserve, is someone who, at one point in his life, wrote a blank check made payable to "The United States of America, " for an amount of "up to and including my life."That is honor, and there are way too many people in this country who no longer understand it.Author unknown. - dreamaker herbal remedies Thursday, June 18, 2009 1:12 PM Re: {Herbal Remedies} Neuropathy-Desiree I am really not understanding something here. I was diagnosed with Idiopathic Neuropathy--no known cause--about 6 years ago,I hve it legs and arms. Not one doctor has ever said anything about a wheelchair.I know others that have it and still have never heard anything about a wheelchair so I am curious what about the disease causes one to have hip pain or have to need a wheelchair. I was given meds to deaden the nerves, problem was,it deadened all the nerves so I quit taking it. By the way I too have been having knee and hip pain so thats why all the questions thanks Marsha--- On Thu, 6/18/09, Terri D. <msterra29 wrote: Terri D. <msterra29Re: {Herbal Remedies} Neuropathy-Desireeherbal remedies Date: Thursday, June 18, 2009, 9:04 AM WOW...what strong words from the doctor...get ready for the wheelchair?? You have got to be kidding me. Some doctors are so rude..but there are many in each profession. Your post caught my eye because I have a ruptured L5-S1 disk that puts me through so much pain especially about once a year when the little piece slides out and pinches that sciatic nerve. Here lately I have been having hip pain and groin pain. First doc said it was pulled muscle. I figured that was pretty much bull..and went back this week and was told it was probably that disk coming coming out and pinching nerver on right side now. My neuro-surgeon keeps pushing for me to have surgery. I have two small toddlers though and couldn't imagin not picking them up for 10 weeks and wondering what the house would look like! lol. Anyway..that pushed a button with the comment from the doctor...only if they went through some of the stuff we do!! Terri S.
