Guest guest
Tara, Why do you need to lower your cholesterol? Wouldn't it be better to find out why it is high in the first place and correct that imbalance? What is in your diet that is causing it? A niacin flush is safe, but uncomfortable, and what it really does is open up your arteries and capillaries so that more oxygen can get to all the places that blood flows. If you decide to use it, start with small doses, like 50 mgs or less, and work up to higher doses as the flush lessens. It is my understanding that the liver produces the cholesterol when the body needs to protect the arteries from toxins. It is like a silicon coating to keep invaders from damaging arterial walls. Consider a liver cleanse and be sure you are using only good, organic fats, and are also getting enough EFAs. Red Yeast Rice is great at lowering cholesterol, but I wouldn't want to lower mine if I needed the protection from pathogens. Diane
