Of late there is a lot of info out about Vit D and lack thereof---but also a lot of confusion about the need for proper D/A balance. Many say it is harmful if you don't have the right balance--but I'm still not clear on what that is. I have 5000 iu Vit Ds but not sure how to complement it. Anyone?

Thanks

Bea

You need a tan! LOL

I recommend getting Vit D from the best and highest quality source: The

Sun.:) Get your Vit A from organic carrots and Vit D from the Sun and

forget all those pills. I know I didn't answer your question, just gave

you my two cents.

Best of health

Most of what I have heard is that Vit D and A work synergestically---and in fact are there in combination in fish oils--I'm just not sure what ratio.

Thanks for all the answers!--- On Thu, 4/9/09, Mike Barnes <drug4development wrote:

From what I read vitamin A in the same formulation with vitamin D will inhibit the absorption of vitamin D. The vitaminD council advice is not to take the two together. Millions in underdeveloped countries need vitamin A because it prevents blindness but deficiency in the USA is rare.

I would never take any amount of vitamin D as a supplement without taking at least 10,000 of vitamin A (not beta-carotene) .

Some of the latest negative reports on vitamin A seem to ignore 70 years and thousands of positive reports on it. Peace Corps still gives 400,000 IU vitamin A megadoses twice a year to millions of people each year.--- On Wed, 4/8/09, Bea Bernhausen <beabernhausen@ > wrote:
