Guest guest
Never never never never never never never NEVER NEVER NEVER absolutley NEVER use essential oils on cats. Cat's cannot metabolize EO's and it could kill them. Especially kittens. Now people will write to you and say " I've used oils on my cats, they like it, they demand it, and they've never been hurt. " Well, they can't see what it's doing to the liver... Also, cats REALLY love the smell and taste of antifreeze. Kills a lot of them every year. I own Aromatic Sage, it's an online magazine that is defunct at the moment. I've been too broke to keep it going, but I'm going to put it back online by tomorrow. The reason I mention this is that there is an article in there written by a very good vet about what possibly killed a (until 6 months before it's death was very healthy) cat, and EO's are the main suspect. I'll put a note out to the list when this is done. Cheers! Guest guest
Hi, Kathleen, Thanks! That's just what I was afraid of-- cats are SO sensitive to stuff other animals are OK with. I'm really afraid to use much of anything on them that doesn't come straight from my vet! I'll look forward to reading Aromatic Sage. BTW, I LOVE you posts! I love your humor and perspective! I rarely have time for much more than scanning the digest. I know you've had a rough time recently-- your sweet Pumpkin right after losing your duck. My thoughts have been with you-- each one of these little guys is a special part of your life and they will always have THEIR special place for you! When the grief of their going has lightened I hope you will be able to rejoice in the time that they shared your life! --Sue , " Woobey Queen " <WoobeyQueen@e...> wrote: > Never never never never never never never NEVER NEVER NEVER absolutley > NEVER use essential oils on cats. Guest guest
Awwww Shucks, you might make this hardened old battle axe blush... nah, come to think of it, I'm long past me blushing days! ;-) T'was a very kind note though and I surely appreciate it. Still a bit raw but we're getting better. Thanks much and like I said, I'll give a shout about the mag. . Cheers! Guest guest
Aromatherapy, herbs, natural living, etc Can you get black walnut or chapparal herbs nearby? I use those on things of that nature. I even make a soap for it! One of my children battles foot fungus and we always have around. Good luck! Guest guest
This is not "natural" as you asked, but since it is spreading so quickly and so much, perhaps this will be something to keep in mind if other remedies do not work. Clear nail polish will kill ringworm within 1 week. You must apply the polish twice a day. What it does is to strangle the ringworm as it cannot breathe as the polish seals it in. My oldest son got ringworm on his thigh when he was around 4 1/2 years old (he is now 34) and I covered it with the polish (my mil told me to do this) and within 1 week it was gone. You could see the polish killing it within a few days as it began to wither and then there was just a spot where the ringworm had been and it took a few weeks for the area to clear completely (a scar-like area had to clear). It has been many years so it is hard to remember, but this will work if the other treatments do not.
