Guest guest
I am looking for suggestions for killing golden staph in my 13yo son. For the last year or so it has come and gone around his nose. It lives in the nose. We tried to treat it a year ago for a while. It kind of backed off and we haven't paid it much attention, but a couple of months ago it was getting worse. I used straight tea tree oil for a while- no effect. Then we tried hemp oil. It seemed to get worse! So my husband went and got some antibiotic cream. It got worse again after getting better for a couple of days. So we stopped everything again and it got better for a week- not gone, but calmed down- then it has flared up again. I was really hopeful for the hemp oil but on trying it again, it seems to make it worse again. We are wondering if it is clogging the pores. I am putting him on echinacea today, and colloidal silver. And, my husband has insisted I take him to the doctor- he is very concerned that if our son gets acne, the golden staph will spread through the acne and scar him for life. However I think doctors also have trouble treating it so I don't have high hopes. We need to knock this thing on the head, so I am asking for ideas. It is a very virulent and antibiotic resistant virus. thanks Susan
Guest guest
I didn't know what you meant by 'golden' staph. I had to look it up. golden staph is a layman's name for a staph infection. staph infection should be readily killed by tea tree oil. Are you buying a quality oil? antibiotics and cream are going to make it resistant. I would avoid that at all costs right now. Is there a pimple or abscess (infection sore?). Is it MRSA? MRSA is an antibiotic resistant form of a staph infection....MRSA is also killed by tea tree oil...and Virgin coconut oil from what I've read. I haven't tried it, but read a lot about it. actually, I guess my real question is, how do you know it's staph? Guest guest
Elecampane eliminated 100 percent of the superbug methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA) colonies upon exposure in tests. I don't know how much to use, what form to get, etc. but hopefully this gives you someplace to start. -Christine herbal remedies , " peelasacha " <peela wrote: > > I am looking for suggestions for killing golden staph in my 13yo son. > We need to knock this thing on the head, so I am asking for ideas. Guest guest
Are we sure this is an anti-biotic resistant strain? I am with the husband on this one. There are times when antibiotics are useful, and this might be one of them. Just hit the PRObiotics afterwards. Most side effects from antibiotic use could be prevented if heavy-duty probiotics were prescribed immediately afterwards, as a matter of course. One thing to keep in mind is that a staph infection is not just local, it gets into your blood. So no matter what oils you apply topically, it may still be there. I had a staph infection many years ago that refused to budge in spite of excellent hygiene and lots of vitamin A, C and nutritional yeast for the B. This was in my Adelle Davis period, I know more now and I would use silver etc first. At the time it hit I was living in a mining exploration camp and couldn't get out except by helicopter. I was 28, and the healthiest I have ever been in my life, lots of daily exercise in the alpine air. But the sores kept coming. One would heal and another one would pop up. I finally asked to be flown out when I got one inside my nose. Three days on a sulpha drug and it was GONE, forever. I did finish the full course, but the sores were gone after 3 days. However, that was a ridiculously long time ago, and Earth knows what clever trick the bug has learned since. Good luck, let us know how the silver and Echinacea worked, and remember to tap. Guest guest
Hello, Susan! Look into Colloidal Silver, and Dr. Bob Beck's Protocol. Yes, there is a pimply type rash around his nose and it pops up on his forehead when it flares up. We were told originally it was staph. It is commonly called school sores here. It seems the same- I am buckling again to my husband and taking ds to the doctor on Monday, but more to doublecheck the diagnosis than anything. I am not into antibiotics- my husband had to literally go to the doctor himself to get them. Obviously we are not on the same wavelength. However, they didn't seem to work, either. This bug is causing huge problems in hospitals here. Considering how hard this is to get rid of, I am pretty sure it's the same thing. Elecampane sounds good. I had heard about oregano oil, and forgotten- I will check that out. I am going to try colloidal silver topically as well as inernally...if I can get the kid to stay home long enough to treat him. He has a busy life. On another level, I really feel his immune system should have killed it by now. He eats reasonably but way too much sugar- at 13, I only have so much control, and although he agrees not to eat sugar for a while, he does anyway. anyway, thanks for the suggestions, if anyone has any others, I am all ears. Guest guest
I don't know the term golden staph, but I did get kicked out of a long term wilderness living situation by a staph infection. At the time I didn't know how to treat it and I had to leave the woods and seek allopathic help. Staph can go real bad in a big way so be open to seeking outside help on that. Since that experienced a few things have come this way. USNEA tincture is specific for staph infections and at our wilderness skills school we have used that on both staph and MRSA with success. Garlic internally (8+cloves/day) and poulticed worked on the MRSA soso, it would stop the spreading and reduce it but not really knock it out. I think the MRSA guy used both usnea and echinacea tincture with the usnea internally and also on the wound itself. USNEA is found in a lot of wooded areas, some other internet resource might be able to teach you exactly what it looks like. Processing it into a tincture can be tricky, it takes more than a simple 2 week in vodka sit. Either use a high proof alcohol and lots of time or a high proof alcohol and the plant in a sealed jar in a crockpot on low for a few hours. The active ingrediant in the usnea doesn't dissolve very easily and the heat helps a lot to release it into the menstruum. Either that or purchase from someone who knows how to make it. If it were me with a staph infection, I'ld be taking a lot of fire cider and usnea tincture 3-5 times a day and soaking a bandage and keeping the staph sore covered with it. I'ld also use a microelectricity treatment called a " godzilla " as described on the microelectricitygermkiller http://health.microelectricitygermkiller/ I'ld be surprised if oregano oil didn't work, but I don't know anyone who has tried that themselves. Again, pay attention and don't ignore it.
Guest guest
Thanks everyone for the thoughts. Miraculously, the echinacea alone seems to have stopped it dead. On Friday, it was bad- several encrusted sores around his nose and forehead, and I made a doctors appointment for Monday. I couldnt find my colloidal silver, so I just started him on the Weleda echinacea I have (which has a few other things in with it), intending to buy some silver next time I was out. I decided to keep with the hemp oil/tea tree combination although it hadnt worked before. By Monday- it was all gone except for one tiny sore on his forehead. We are both convinced it was the echinacea that turned it around. His immune system must have needed help. I kept the doctor's appt and got a diagnosis. She said it was just staph, although technically golden too- not the anti-biotic resistant one since that is generally only in hospitals, and oral anti-biotics would kill it although it might take 2 weeks and make him feel yuk. I took the prescription but told her I don't intend to use it unless it comes back with a vengeance. I told her how we were treating it- she wrote down hemp oil- and dismissed the echinacea. Oh well. I am going to keep him on the regime for a while longer - another week at least. Husband and son are now a little more willing to trust me with herbs!
