> Hello. I also have a problem with female hair loss, that seemed to start when

perimenopause hit me hard 5 years ago. It seems as though my hair has not grown

in 5 years and has gotten thinner and more fragile. I am a woman and my hairline

is receding. I know there is new growth but it never gets longer as the ends

seem to wear away. What do you do if you don't eat meat or organ meats as

suggested in " Traditional " ? I am new to eating raw foods and am

not 100% (About 2 months in). My fingernails are taking a hit too. Lots of

vertical ridges, splits, and general weakness.

Any suggestions out there that won't cost a fortune in supplements?

I would find a good vitamin supplement.

I recommend Docs Total Nutrition. This gives most people all of the

vitamins and nutrients they need to support their body throughout the

entire day.

I can vouch for this being true as I use it daily and LOVE the way I

feel after drinking it.

Also you may need to do some balancing of your hormones. Chaste tree

berry, dong qui and wild yam are three great herbs for balancing the

hormones.

Best of Health to you!

Firstly, could you be iodine deficient? A great portion of the population suffers from iodine deficiency and is not aware it of. I solved my problem by taking Iodoral, which is Lugol's in tablet form. You can google Iodoral to find out where to purchase it. Another thing that has vastly helped my hair is a supplement made from the Oleander extract called Sutherlandia OPC. This is actually sold as a cancer remedy but it also boosts the immune system and I have found that it helps with anxiety (which I suffer from) and a side effect is that my hair is now full and grows faster. Let me give you the link for this: http://www.sutherlandiaopc.com. This supplement comes from South Africa.

Hope this has helped. But first of all, address the iodine issue.

Black beans, black chicken, black rice, black sesame, walnuts, red grapes,

goji, shitake,

sprouts, organic eggs. Raspberries and raspberry tea.

QiGong/yoga/Tai Chi are great as well.

In Chinese medicine, the hair is supported by blood and foundational

essence. There are great points and herbs for that as well, but the above

recommendations are stuff you can do for yourself.
