Generalized Osteopenia just means her bones all over are getting a bit thin. This is perfectly normal for a 62 year old, but there are drug companies that would love to sell your relative a pile of drugs.

What is the connection between this and your relative's infection?

In order to keep calcium in the bones, the most important thing is to avoid acidifying foods, like anything with sugar or refined flour. The body will give priority to keeping blood at the right PH, even if

it means taking calcium and magnesium from your bones.

Osteopenia is not likely to be a problem

for anyone who has an all-over healthy diet. Green leafy vegetables sprinkled with ground seeds are a tasty source of calcium and other minerals.

Get brown sesame seeds with the hulls still on them, toast them lightly in a dry skillet and grind them. They are delicious that way and get absorbed more.

Thanks to Frances Moore Lappe for that lesson.
