Guest guest
Hello all. I haven't been here in a while...although I read all the time, just not posting. Anyway. I'm 37 years old. I was born and raised in Philadelphia. Up until 2 years ago when I moved to South Florida, I had long thick hair. Since then, my hair has thinned out dramatically. I could almost tell the day I moved here that it just wasn't right. I started blaming the water right off the bat. The apartment I lived in used well-water. OMG, it stunk. But I only lived there for less than 6 months...at which time I had already had noticeably thinning hair. Then I moved into an apartment complex, which uses the municiple water. My hair just keeps getting thinner and thinner. I don't even braid it anymore because it ends up looking like a rat's tail. I've brought it up to other people who live here, both FL natives as well as transplants. Some blame it on the warmer climate, some say the water. But nobody has really experienced significant hair loss such as mine. I've increased my water intake (spring water), take vitamins. I just recently started taking msm, biotin and lutein supplements. At least once a week I oil my hair with Avocado, Olive, or Jojoba oil, usually with an essential oil such as rosemary, lavender or tea tree oil. But I've always done that. I bought a carbon-filtered shower head. Don't know if that'll really do anything. I'm really at wits end. It's pretty depressing, especially when I see pictures of myself even from two years ago. I don't even like to touch it because I'm afraid I'll pull more out, lol.
