Guest guest
some nose bleeds are also anatomic as well as r/t hbp. The vessels are very very close to the surface of the nasal passage and easily break. vit c may help to toughen the small vessels. sometimes they do use a small battery powered unit to close off the tiny superficial vessels "electrocautery"where they very briefly touch the vessel and cut it off. or apply a powder to it to stop the bleeding... am trying to recall it's name... silver nitrate... i think it's been a long time. being in dry or cold weather can set these off, as can extreme exertion, impact or high dry air... perhaps a drop of oil applied to the surface.... will keep it from drying out... but just a drop....of say olive oil... to keep the tissue moist and NOT enough to inhale.
