Guest guest
Hello All, I need all the info I can get on the natural way to treat what Drs are calling early signs of diabetes. I have heard and experienced so much information that would say, stay away from insulin. I have even seen Headlines lately that compare the toxic effect of manufactured insulin to the varios cholestrol meds. Please let me know all of the up to date info and all of the Natural cures. I am going natural even if it kills me. Yes I will also give it to God. Pastor, M
Guest guest
Hi Pastor M, Try going low carb, but with some fresh fruits and veggies that are low carb such as strawberries and broccoli or green beans, and add some colloidal vanadium and chromium (you can usually find these together in one bottle) to your regimen as these two minerals are usually deficient in people who get Type II diabetes. Stay away from all highly-processed foods, diet or regular colas, white sugar, and simple carbs. Guest guest
If you are truly having " early signs " you should be nowhere near the insulin-taking stage; there are oral medications that regulate sugar. That said, in the " early sign " stages there are several things you can do to regulate your blood sugar without any drugs at all. 1 - Remove or very strictly limit processed sugar products from your diet. If you become truly diabetic, you're going to have to remove ALL processed sugars, so be honest about this and cut back hard. I do not advocate using sugar substitutes like nutrasweet or Splenda - I know for a fact Nutrasweet caused my migraine headaches that magically stopped the minute I quit using it (and no idea what other neurological damage it may have done). Natural sweeteners like honey are better, but they do elevate your blood sugar, so don't use much of it. Also limit other simple carbohydrates. Switch from processed flour products to whole grain products. This is probably the most critical step if you are a chronic sugar and white flour junkie like most Americans. And it may be enough. 2 - Make sure your diet is well balanced between proteins, carbohydrates and fats. Might help you to do a food diary for a few days just to see what you ARE eating. If the food comes from a package of any kind, look at the label and write down the protein, carbohydrate and fat numbers. If it mostly comes from the raw vegetable bin and the butcher shop, good for you (and I'm surprised you have this problem). You can look up numbers for vegetables and meats online. The one that's going to surprise you is carrots - a very high sugar veggie. You may need a little more protein and less carbohydrate than a non-diabetic. Vegetarians aren't going to like me on this, but a higher protein diet from meat (since most meat substitutes like beans or rice are also high carbohydrate) does seem to help. If you're a vegetarian, you might need to talk to a dietician about this. There have to be good lower-carb non-meat proteins. 3 - If you're not getting regular exercise, start. And I don't mean a 10 minute walk. I mean get really active - at least 20-30 minutes every day. Some of the best results are with weightlifting, because it builds muscle mass. Some diabetics weightlifters I knew had to come off their insulin after they started, because it was driving their blood sugars too low. 4 - Take ONE QUARTER teaspoon of cinnamon every day. I emphasize the amount because people are tempted to say .... well, if one quarter is good, HALF would be twice as good. Not so. Cinnamon is a lovely thing. It tastes marvelous and it will cut your blood sugar and cholesterol by about 20 percent. But - it also contains an element similar to coumadin - a strong blood thinner. Too much cinnamon (especially if you also take aspirin) can cause problems with uncontrolled bleeding. If you take ANY blood thinners for heart problems, don't add any cinnamon at all until you've spoken with your doctor about it. As for how you take it - doesn't matter. I drink herbal teas that I make instead of soda pop, usually green tea with ginger, mint, lemon balm or chamomile, and I add my cinnamon to it. Also works well in oatmeal or cereal (whole grains for you!) Doc may have something else in his arsenal. The steps I outlined above should help someone move away from the pre-diabetic stage forever, but if it does not, perhaps he can suggest stronger, more effective options. You do need to start controlling this now, before you have full-blown diabetes, and keep it controlled. Insulin is every bit as destructive as you have been led to believe, but it is nowhere near as destructive as uncontrolled elevated blood sugars. herbal remedies , " happylife22842 " <happylife22842 wrote: > > Hello All, > I need all the info I can get on the natural way to treat what Drs are calling early signs of diabetes. Guest guest
<<<I need all the info I can get on the natural way to treat what Drs are calling early signs of diabetes.>>> Do some research into the herb gymnema. It is an ayurvedic herb that has been used for a long time for diabetes, with very good effect. My mother was recently diagnosed with early diabetes, and she had the symptoms of raging thirst and nerve pain in her feet- already, even though her levels were not so high as to need insulin yet. I put her onto gymnema- which she just picked up at a health food store, she doesn't live close to me- and 4 days later she excitedly emailed me to say all her obvious symptoms had gone already- neither she not I had expected that so quickly. She was thrilled. Peela in Australia

Guest guest
I have also just read of Gymnema Sylvestre. There are some promising results with this herb. It states that it can regenerate the beta cells of the pancreas. I want to try this one and see. Doc, do you have any of this herb? Fenugreek seeds also helps lower blood sugar, as does leaves from the nopal cactus, Robert --- On Fri, 3/13/09, Susan Shobbrook <peela wrote: Susan Shobbrook <peela{Herbal Remedies} Re:Sugar Diabetesherbal remedies Date: Friday, March 13, 2009, 11:19 PM <<<I need all the info I can get on the natural way to treat what Drs are calling early signs of diabetes.>>>Do some research into the herb gymnema.
