Please can anyone help with my daughters exam

stress? She gets stressed, has problems breathing

and cries uncontrollably. We have tried relaxation

exercises, breathing exercises,going through mock

exams etc.We are looking for something herbal that

may help, she is 15.

This is a tough one, I suffered my entire life, still do

mostly because I'm the oldest of 8 and my dad was

in the military. He was very strict with me and as

a result I developed test anxiety. It followed me

through college and into my life. I started drinking

chamomile tea when my daughters were growing

up, it made all the difference in the world. When

I get stressed out these days I take chamomile tincture

that I make from German Chamomile when I go to

bed at night. If one has a sensitivity to alcohol you

can boil water, put into a preheated cup, and put a

several dropperfuls into the very hot water, it

evaporates much of the alcohol. I learned that little

trick from one of the wonderful people at Organic

Solutions aka Herbal Remedies.

 

I keep a pot of chamomile tea on the woodstove, on

a trivet. it's a little rack with legs on it. Keeps the tea

from boiling. I drink my tea all day long and this keeps

it warm. Sometimes I use other herbs. I started

with chamomile because it's so sweet and yummy I

didn't have to put raw honey into it. Others at OS

would be able to direct you to other herbs, but for

best results you need to be sure your daughter is

not having undo pressure put on her, get her drinking

relaxing herbal teas and when she has an exam she

can use a tincture if necessary. Thing is I hesitate to

tell you to give her a tincture to carry, it is alcoholic

unless you make it with organic vinegar. But I have

not been happy with the extraction process using

vinegar, it's doesn't work nearly so well for me. For

your daughter it might be just the ticket, Bryan or Doc

have the answer to this. If you use vinegar you need

to also use raw honey, some teenagers are very

resistant to using these things. But if it helps her I

doubt it would hurt a thing. Good Luck!

You could try valarian. Gingko increases blood and oxygen to the brain.

Thank you Micki, very informative and helpful for my daughter. We always let our daughter know as long as she tries her best, thats all she can do in her exams and that life isnt based on one exam, its based on many learning experiences throughout life to try to take the pressure off her. Now off to research making a chamomile tincture lol.
