I am in a quandry. This drug was prescribe to me by my OB for a UTI

(urinary tract infection). I have resisted taking it as the side

effects are scary and it seems as though a lot of people have

reported them. IF getting any of these side effects I would have to

then take more drugs that are risky during pregnancy. If you would

like to see the risks you can google it. The insert on the package

was enough for me; then to read testimonials sent me over the edge.

If I don't do something about this it will spread to my kidneys and

then my bloodstream, which obviously isn't good for me or the baby.

Currently I am taking a host of natural remedies that aren't

contraindicated in pregnancy, (D-Mannose, Bio-k, New Chapter

Probiotics, Cran conc and lemon, Usnea, Nutribiotic Plus) but it

seems as though it's just holding it off and my kidneys are sensitive

when I pound on my lower back. I am so, so nervous about this and

wonder if anyone has any advice to offer on the subject. My nurse

practitioner at my OB told me that his was the only antibiotic that

would knock out a UTI.

The most important part of this dilemna-it's a

category C in 2nd trimest and category D (worst) in 3rd trimester.

Category C is unknown if it will harm the unborn child. Category D can

cause deformities and abnormalities in the unborn baby. The pharmacist

was hesitant in giving it to me-which started all this. I of course

read inserts, but this made me even more nervous.

Maybe I should see a Naturopath? I don't know. Any ideas or advice

is much appreciated. I have had a fever for a few days now and need

to act fast. I feel as though I am being stupid already.

Thanks so much,

Lisa
