I have had dental work done with anesthesia while breastfeeding (and sometimes While breastfeeding! lol) Anyway, my dentist told me that he has several options for anesthesia, some are better than others when nursing. I wish I could remember what he used on me (sorry) but I know there ARE alternatives for anesthesia.

I have a Hale's Medications and Mother's Milk and it lists Lidocaine as a category L2 (L1 being the safest, and L5 being not safe). There were no pediatric concerns reported via breastmilk. Authors of a study on Lidocaine reported that this anesthesia can safely be used while breastfeeding.

Add into the above good news that your baby is 6 months old~ her body weight is higher than a newborn's so she will get less per body weight.

Doc's Tooth & Gum formula is wonderful stuff. :-)

I was wondering this same type of thing with novicane.  I have a cracked tooth that I don't feel like getting fixed because I don't want to sit in a chair for hours getting a crown.  And since I've been ttc for awhile I always think when I start af I'll make the apt but I keep putting it off.  Does anyone know who novicane affects ttc or very early conception?
