Guest guest
Hello All! If this question can be answered thru the files or older posts, just point me in the right direction, please. There is a woman I know only online, not in real life, and she determined that she miscarried earlier this month. She planned on allowing nature to take it's course, but it's been 27 days now w/no spotting or bleeding of any kind & it's wearing on her sanity. (I've heard of it taking up to several weeks, but I have never read of it taking this long... How long is too long to wait?) What can she do to " encourage " nature to kick in? She called this morning & tried to set an appointment w/her OB group, just to discuss her options, but has more or less been placed on the back burner until Monday. Convenient, huh?? So, Doc or others- what suggestions can you offer? Thanks in advance!!
Guest guest
If she miscarried and there is no blood or spotting then it sounds as if it all passed. What makes her think there is anything left behind? Your body will try to get rid of anything that does not belong there and there is a lot of bleeding to flush it out. I know as I have had two miscarriages in the past, one where I had a D & C and another where I healed myself (after 5 solid weeks of bleeding!) and was scheduled for a D & C but decided to try an alternative. It worked in 3 days and I avoided a costly and unnecessary D & C. This women needs to make sure she truly miscarried so she would not abort a child. I know the herbs used but would feel very irresponsible in sharing this information. She is either looking for an abortifacient or she must think she still has something when she does not. Weird. Since it has been several weeks, a few days will not matter. The OB/GYN will simply take a bit of blood and run a test to determine whether or not she is pregnant (I had this done with my last miscarriage). This will put her mind to ease one way or the other.
