Nope. Its a plant not a fungi.

A peanut is a root that is also a seed and does not reproduce by the means of spores.

Peanuts are considered legumes like beans and peas but they fruit under the ground making them the weirdest legume I know of.

Raw Peanuts are Alkaline to the body and very good for you.

Cooked or roasted peanuts are Acid to the body and bad for you.

Finding raw Peanuts can be difficult but you should be able to buy from a seed outlet.

It is really odd that 97.5 % of Americans have never tasted a delicious raw Peanut when pretty much every one in the country has had a roasted Peanut.

Grow your own and give the good raw peanuts to your friends and neighbors to plant. Great for edible landscaping as they have pretty round leaves and look great around your estate.

{Herbal Remedies} Growing peanuts

Where I'm from (60 miles from the AZ border in central New Mexico)

peanuts grow like crazy. Peanuts are New Mexico's #1 agricultural export

and they grow great in the heat. I think they would grow great in AZ.

Remember to plant green peanuts and not roasted.
