Guest guest
Hi Marlen, We have the lice problem a few times per year in my son's school. When we get a notice that some kids have lice, I put a drop of the following on my son's clothes: I make a mix of same amounts of tea tree, lavender and Eucalyptus radiata (70 drops of each fills my 10 ml-bottle). Then each morning before he goes to school one drop on the collar of his sweater, one drop on his t-shirt, one drop on his coat, scarf, hat. That way he doesn't get lice. Notice that I do not use the drops of his skin. When friends of his do have lice, I recommend this: 30 drops of the anti-lice-mix in 100 ml jojoba: massage it into head and hair, leave for 2 hours, then comb lice and nits out of the hair, and then wash the hair. (A good way to get the oil out of the hair is to first massage shampoo into the oily hair, and only then go in the shower, then once again wash the hair). I also put 3 drops of the mixture in a handful of shampoo. Repeat after 3 days, and after one week. It does help! Succes! Guest guest
First let me say THANK YOU, THANK YOU, THANK YOU, I don't post much on this list because when I do I never get a response not sure why but I do appreciate you taking the time to help me out. I'm going to mix it up today at the warehouse and will make a bottle for her camp mate. Guest guest
Thank you for this recipee. I happen to have these oils in a water suspension for spritzing curtains, soft furnishings including the carpet and the matresses. I will reccomend this to the guy I care fors wife who has a real headlice problem from one of the schools. - " Saskia Van Besauw " <Saskia.VanBesauw Wednesday, June 13, 2007 3:46 PM RE: Head Lice > Hi Marlen, > > > > We have the lice problem a few times per year in my son's school. Guest guest
With regard to head lice I learned from my mother-in-law, who was a school R.N. for about 40 years, that the non chemical way to get rid of head lice is to use olive oil or another heavy oil e.g. coconut oil. You saturate the person's hair with the oil, comb through with a lice comb. You then leave the oil in the hair over night - I recommend wrapping the hair in a light towel and putting a shower cap on over that. In the morning you wash out the oil. You are supposed to repeat this every 3 days for 2 weeks, but it won't hurt anything if you decide you just must do this nightly. This remedy is inexpensive and, as I have sad cause to know, highly effective. Best of luck, Carol

Guest guest
Hello guys hope everyone is doing well, I must tell you the follow up on this lice issue, I gave my daughters camp mate the recipe for the head lice, well her mom is not into aromatherapy and thinks we are all crazy. She went to her doctor and he prescribed some awful chemical paid around $ 90 dollars for it and it did nothing the lice are still alive and kicking. Someone else recommended a place about 30min from were we live and they guarantee the lice will go away. She took her daughter and she calls me and tells me the place she is at smells like my warehouse and reads the bottle of treatment used on her daughters hair Tea Tree, Ylang -Ylang, Citronella, and Eucalyptus. They charged her an INCREDIBLE $235 for the treatment and the lice are gone. She spent $325 between both treatments when she could of spent a lot less if she would have listened, well now she thinks she will give aromatherapy a chance. I have been putting the blend below in my daughters collar and she has been lice free :-) Marlen Rodriguez Aromatherapy Outlet 8022 NW 90th Street Medley, Florida 33166 Phone: 305-888-8229 Fax: 305-888-2408 E-mail: marlen www.aromatherapyoutlet.com ~~~~~~~~~~~~ Your source for 100% pure Certified Organic and Wildgrown Essential Oils and Supplies. _____ On Behalf Of Saskia Van Besauw Wednesday, June 13, 2007 1:46 AM RE: Head Lice Hi Marlen, We have the lice problem a few times per year in my son's school. Guest guest
Mayonnaise. Saturate all your hair with mayo. Wrap it up in saran wrap for a couple of hours. Wash and then rinse with vinegar solution. There are other things to use like Lavender oil, not exactly sure how to do that one.. Guest guest
Head lice can be safely killed with plastic wrap (Saran) and mayonnaise. Just go to the dollar store and buy a cheap jar of mayonnaise. Completely cover hair and scalp (to the roots) with mayonnaise and then wrap head with Saran wrap and a towel (it will begin to melt and run as it gets warm). If you can stand it, go to bed with this on your head, otherwise leave it on for at least 3 hours. Wash hair thoroughly, then VERY thoroughly go through hair with a lice comb. Do not use those cheap plastic combs that look like a regular hair comb. You will want a metal comb (these are also sold in the animal department) and the tines are so very close together that you can't hardly get any hair through it. This is tight enough to pull eggs from the hair. It is best to have someone else go through your hair for you, if at all possible, so that they will go through each strand. Treat everyone in the family this same way. Be diligent! Just one missed egg or nit means reinfestation. We had a daughter who had been in public school about 9 years ago, who came home with lice and infected 5 in our family!!! I was up until 4am combing through hair!!! We were able to get rid of it all and I used mayonnaise and plastic wrap just like I shared above. I called the school and told them my daughter had lice and would not be back until they were gone. I was told that as long as she "just had nits" she could be in school!!!! I was enraged, to say the least. I told them, no, my daughter will be back when she is free of lice completely! About a week later the local paper had a front page picture of a huge louse on the front with a caption that read that 60% of the kids in our district were infected with lice! Can you imagine???? It was because of their policy of not keeping kids home until free of bugs because they lose federal funds each day a child is not there. I was beyond furious..... It was no wonder my child became infected. Anyway, good luck!!! Lice are nasty little critters and I hope I never have to deal with them again! Guest guest
This is the recipe we used for our family...youngest is 3 years old and I am NOT pregnant. I have used teatree oil while pregnant but if concerned about any of the ingredients I would check with someone who has greater knowledge than I...DOC We used 2 TBSP. tea tree oil, 2 TBSP. Rosemary oil and 1c. organic olive or coconut oil. Mixed together and applied to the head to saturate. Place a shower cap or tie a plastic bag around all of the hair as the head lice will try and escape. the oil will smother the lice. Leave on for 2 hours. You still have to pick through the hair with a good lice comb a metal one is preferrable. I picked through my 7 y.o.s hair for 6 hours one night. I had 2 dd's who had it and one who did not. Amazing. I treated the whole family. You will need to repeat this every week for 3 weeks. I did a month so that all of the newly hatched lice will be killed. This kills lice and not all eggs so some new ones may hatch. After the 3 treatments they were gone. We did use a chemical prep. first on one of my dd's who had it the worst and found live lice the next day so I went herbal and it worked amazingly plus the oil helped to lubricate the scalp after the chemical prep dried it out. I will never do that again. I would rather pick for a couple of weeks than risk chemicals again! Hope this helps! Guest guest
Frederique, I used different natural remedies for head lice when my daughter was 5 years old and in kindergarten. The whole class had problems because of storing sleep mats and pillows together after daily naps. The most pleasant remedy is an essential oil, balsam de Peru. A stronger smelling, more astringent remedy is tea tree oil. Both will kill the lice, and should be used repeatedly, along with a very fine-toothed comb to remove any nits (lice eggs). There are shampoos that have these oils in them, and I have used Revlon's Balsam shampoo and have added tea tree oil to it. I would shampoo my daughter's hair with it, leave it in for about 20 minutes, and then rinse. I kept on using the shampoo to repel any further infestations. (Balsam de Peru is known as the poor man's vanilla, and it does smell very similar to vanilla extract, so it covered the tea tree oil smell quite well.) You can also purchase tea tree oil shampoos online and at health food stores, and then add balsam de Peru to it. Either way, you present the lice with a double whammy! To effectively rid lice in the bedding and in stuffed animals, etc., you can add tea tree oil to distilled water and lightly mist all areas several times. I was told that animals, like our kitten that we had at the time, do not carry lice, so that is a good thing to know. There used to be a brush that would emit electrical currents just strong enough to kill the lice and the nits. I was told about it by a school nurse, but I never actually saw or used it. I probably would have looked up the research on it and purchased one, but my daughter was already "cured". We live in Texas, so I am sure the brushes were available here, at least 11 years ago they were.... Just a suggestion.... Good luck with the unwelcome "guests"...and try not to resort to the products sold over the counter for lice. They are pesticides, as you probably already know, and they are NOT good for humans at ANY age! Blessings to you, Molly in Texas
Guest guest
Mayonnaise... My two granddaughters both have long hair and had an infestation. Their pediatrician said nothing better than mayo. Their dad did it, used the comb, did it again with a washing in between. Their hair came out beautiful and they were lice free in one day. A Good Credit Score is 700 or Above. See yours in just 2 easy steps!
