Mahsa,My name is Kristen and I live in Northern Indiana, close to Notre Dame. I too have been researching schools of Naturopathy. I emailed Doc to ask his input before the holidays but haven't had a chance to catch up. The main school I have been looking at is called Clayton College of Natural Health. They are an online school down south. I am looking at their Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine degree. With all schools, I have heard good and bad. I do know however that an article was featured in "First" magazine by a person who graduated from there. That seemed to ease my mind a little. A teacher of mine from Massage Therapy school was going to a school in California for the same degree after our school year was complete. I would have to find more details. I honestly have not found a lot of schools in Canada

through my research, but honestly was not searching for schools in that area. Its very hard to find a good, reputable school that is accredited and will give the education we are looking for. If anyone knows of any other schools, please let us know. I am open to anything at this point! Hope this helps! Have a wonderful day to allKristen E Walker, CMT

In the USA and other countries NDs are not recognized and are not permited to practice.

Most states in the USA have not issued a licence to practice Naturopathy in over 35 years because of pharmaceutical monopolies. Because huge pharmaceutical companies can not patent herbs, they patented the chemicals in the herbs and then made many herbs illegal. We are only permited to educate people on how to get well but legally we can't help anybody with anything. There is hardly any money to be made in natural healing so if you plan to get rich, this is not the profession for you. Mostly all schools of natural healing have been taken over by the large corporations and their greater technologies have been perverted. The best way to learn natural healing is to buy the Life Time Health Lecture series from Doc and get Doc's recipes (they are free). Next would be to buy books on herbs and learn the medicinal qualities of each plant. If you wish to help people you will have to be the teacher and not a doctor. The word doctor means teacher but you can not call yourself a doctor unless you have been though years of medical school. Some MDs have continued their study and become natural doctors under the name of medical doctors. These guys make big bucks as they actually get people well and this works them up a big reputation. The Academy of Natural Healing was founded by Doc and is the only school I would recommend but I do not think you need certification to help people. The best place to study Naturopathy is in your home and in your garden. Any questions you have call the Academy of Natural Healing 828-835-8071 or ask Herbal Remedies. So start helping people and get yourself in top shape. Definitely listen to the Life Time Health Lecture Series all the way through at least five times.

Ask the Academy if you need any help in becoming a natural healer. Our goal is to teach people.

Don't spend a couple thousand dollars to get a rank when you can learn everything for free.

It just takes research.

Good luck in learning.

Dear Mahsa,

That is a tough one here in the States.

Bastyr is trying for a monopoly on the "ND" status here in the US, and

yet they are nothing but Medical Doctor Wannabees.

Their course teaches invasive therapies which is not "Naturopathic".

My Alma Mater is Trinity College, but graduating there does not allow

you to practice or get licensed, which means you'd need to be in a

State where ND Licensing doesn't happen such as New Mexico, Idaho,

Montana or Nebraska. The entire profession is being hammered at the

moment, and we're losing our freedoms daily here in the States.

Supposedly, Codex Alimentarius will be in full effect by December of

this year, and we could essentially be legislated out of business by

12/31/2009. We'll see. There are a lot of people fighting this in

present time.

If I were you at this time, I'd sign up for Doctor Christopher's School

of Natural Healing and get a "Master Herbalist" diploma. I'd hire

anyone with a diploma from his school it's that good.

Hope this helps.

All the best,

Doc

I am a graduate of the School of Natural Healing. I can tell you it was worth all the work and all the effort. I fully agree with Doc that the graduates of Bastyr are nothing more than wannabe doctors. I live in the backyard of Bastyr and had planned to go to school there after I finished with my master herbalist from SNH, but then I came in contact with a few too many of their graduates who weren't doing a darn thing for their patients! I had one friend go to a ND who told her she could eat nothing but white rice and chicken but never told her how to heal! When I suggested she cleanse her body, she asked the ND and the ND said she could do it if she wanted to. I was just talking to an MD yesterday who does almost nothing but cranial sacral therapy and does not practice traditional medicine at all and he called the ND's nothing more than "green doctors" and mentioned that they don't heal just the same that most MDs don't heal either.

I read in the Herbal Legacy newsletter that the SNH is having an intro price on their online course for the first course, which is normally $495, they are running a $100 special. You might check it out.

As of this month, they offer the first section online. They are running a special on tuition as an introduction- $100 for the course rather than $495.
