I have a Italian Greyhound mix, 14 year old dog that has arthritis in her back by her tail. Is there something I can give her besides pills?Thank you for your time.

I have an older lab that was showing signs of hip displasia. I stopped

feeding her any kibble and switched her to a totally raw prey model

diet. It took only a few months for her to become pain free and much

more playful. She is now several years older and has never been

healthier. Hope that helps.

Dear Tammy

I had the same problem with my labrador about ten years ago, I took him off branded dog food (I got a natural foodstuff that was easy to digest) and included oil in his diet which was instantly successful, I put cod liver oil in with his food it calmed it down, (You ned to have a break every week as it can be stored in the body and be too much) what was also very sucessful and very satisfying was massaging his spine I would spend ten minutes a day running two fingers down the entire spine (one on each side)from the head right to the tip of his tail he would sit there enjoying it and then at some point would get up wag his tail as to say thank you and go off to do what he was doing before we started. I would just gently massage him all over too, but the spine massage really helped and took the pained look off his face. I stupidly agreed later on to put him on some heavy medication the vet said would be the magical cure and

he passed away two weeks later, so I would always try to handle my dogs ailments naturally if at all possible now, I have three and feed them organic foods I make myself and they have only been to the vets when they have been toooooo energetic and tried to jump six foot fences !! they forget they are only small dogs.

Hope this helps

Well, our poor Golden Lab is very overweight. All she wants to do is lie in bed. She does not eat that much, but she doesn't do anything either. We have her on Canidae dog food. We give her fish oil capsules. She also has started a limp this last year in one of her back legs. She is 9 years old.

Any help would be appreciated.

Also, I have fibromyalgia. Any suggestions for that?

Also, I am very overweight too. Any suggestions for that as well. I can't do too much exercise because of the fibromyalgia. I can walk some, but that is it for the exercise...

Thanks in advance for all your help.

Oh, wanted to say a couple of things.

I used to have an itchy rash on one of my legs every winter. I had heard of eating olives to eliminate that. I thought, thats silly. But I tried it anyway. My rash went away, and has never come back. I ate black olives every day. Put them in casseroles, on pizza, ect. And I ate them plain. Maybe 5 or 6 a day.

The other thing is, I have been drinking low sodium v8 juice because of the high potassium, to eliminate my leg cramps during the night. It did eliminate them, but it also is lowering my blood pressure, that was borderline high. It was as high as 168/98. But normally in the high 140's/ over 90/s. Last week, I had it taken, and it was 130/84. Now that is amazing to me.

Hope these things can help someone else...

Grind up organic egg shells and put it in her food. Raw organic bones.

Grey hounds are prone to get arthritis and I would say there is nothing the pills and drug approach can do for a 14 year old dog with arthritis.

I would call Doc and learn his Arthritis remedies. These formulas were intended for humans but Doc has save dogs lives with many of them.

Call him and learn how to make them or if you don't have time to make your own herbal preparations you can buy them from Organic Solutions. #1-888-898-9660

Best wishes in getting her fixed up

Sorry for the delay.

A raw prey model diet is based on the diet of the wolf. Basically it

consists of raw meaty bones and occasional organ meats. If you google

" Raw prey model diet " , you will find TONS of information. Best thing I

ever did for my dogs...and cat.
