Hi Wani,

Fresh or dried ginger root in a tea will do wonders for morning

sickness.

The best would be to make a tea out of Red Raspberry leaf and ginger

root.

Also, I found that eating a little bit of something in the morning

right away

before you even get hungry or sick helps to keep your stomach happy☺

Hope this helps,

Ginger just does not want to work for me.. it has a reverse

affect.. Makes my tummy cramp more and the sickness last longer..

I have tried every form of ginger.. L

Back in the early 60's, my deceased mother-in-law (who raised 7 girls) would prescribe ginger to help the menstrual flow get started if you were late. I don't know if this was an accurate prescription. I would think someone that is pregnant should not take ginger but I am not literate in Herbs. She had us eat soda crackers for morning sickness.

She also prescribed goose grease for whooping cough and when one of her grandchildren contracted it she killed the poor family pet. Those were naive times and old wives tales were rampant. Oh, she also told us girls we should not cut our babies fingernails the first time with scissors we were to bite them off and the tips of bananas were poisonous to a baby so none of the girls fed them the tips. Baby formula was 16 ounces of whole cows milk scalded, 8 ounces of boiled water and 1 tablespoon of dark Karo syrup. Each week the water was decreased by 1 ounce until by 9 weeks of age the infant was on whole milk.

Doc if you have time, what is your feed back on some of these old time remedies and prescriptions. Looking back they sound quite antiquated and 'iffy'. But I just read on the Internet for arthritis you carry a potato in your pocket until it shrivels then replace it with a fresh one. That seemed to be prescribed with tongue in cheek which is where some of these mother-in-law remedies belong.????

Some good remedies for morning sickness are:

Sour lemon/citrus drops

Mint

Ginger

Wild Yam

Sea-sickness bands (wear like bracelets)

Drink Lots of water

Eat Lots of protein

Snack frequently throughout the day

Some work for some women~ while others work for others. And it can vary from pregnancy to pregnancy what works, so experimentation is the key.

The spray that comes from a lemon rind is a short-term morning sickness

reliever. Also, some women have luck with Sea Bands that are used for motion

sickness. I have heard that B vitamins can also alleviate the nausea.

Hope you're feeling better soon,

Samantha

Hi All,

I started taking Vit K and extra Magnesium it seems to be a

little help with the extra morning wakeup.. throughout the day it is just the

same.. I have to keep food in my tummy or I notice that I get really ill..

Thanks for all the tips. I will try the lemon peel as well, I

notice if I squeeze some lemon in my water it helps out as well I have been

drinking sun charged water ..

Take care!
