Guest guest
In September 2005 I had a severe tear in my left retina. The surgeon performed sclera buckle surgery. The retina was repaired but my vision could not be restored. Since then I've had another tear in my left retina which was corrected with laser. I had laser surgery on 2 weak spots on my right retina to prevent tearing. Monday I had a tear in the retina in my right and and had laser surgery to fix the tear. I was born severely near-sighted. In 1989 my vision was 20/2000. I had Radial Keratotomy surgery to correct my vision and have been without wearing glasses until my first retinal detachment in 2005. Now I wear glasses for reading. My condition is called lattice degeneration. The vitreous fluid in both eyes has liquefied and torn away from the inside of my eyes. My retinas are very fragile due to the degeneration. The movement of the vitreous fluid against the retina is causing the tears. Anyone got any advice on how to prevent future tears? Thanks God Bless Kris
