There are folks who are reporting a slowing or stabilization of the macula from the use of bilberry I think it's called vacinnum myrtilis (sp???) . It has some compounds in it that support the stabilization and strengthening of connective tissue in the eye and elsewhere in the body. You might look around for any dark berry, as they all tend to have the same compound in it...anthocyanadin... again I'm spelling this from memory so it may not be a perfect spelling. I would say that along with that some vit c might be helpful, keeping blood sugar levels would be helpful too. So I would look into the use of supplemental chromium in its many forms to help stabilize blood sugar. Ester c is considered a more stable form of vit c in that it remains in the body longer...both forms of vit c help to strengthen collagen/connective tissue"matrix" throughout the body. I hope that this is helpful for you and that others have some ideas for you as well...
