Guest guest
Good Afternoon, Doc! I tried to email you directly, through the address on the website, but my letter was returned. So, I thought I'd try here... I've read all sorts of 411 on DMSO, including yours, & can remember well using it as a child. My mom was given some from a friend that raced horses & it lasted forever- it seemed. We used it on every bump, scrape or small wound that we had. Mom used it on her temples w/her migraines... She used it on our animals, too. I can clearly recall the peculiar smell & taste... Not offensive, just strange... Recently, my mom bought me some DMSO from an animal feed shop. It's in a plastic bottle, 99.7% pure, & is clearly marked "For Industrial Solvent Use Only. Not for Drug Use." (Which doesn't phase me.) Anyway, I've used it a handful of times on myself, but am a li'l worried about what it actually is that I'm using... It is nearly clear & I recall the DMSO we had as being yellowish. It has almost no smell & there's no taste in my mouth after application either. Also, it BURNS when I put it on my skin. I use a cotton swab to dab a li'l on & I barely swirl it & it'll burn almost unbearably so. If I have used my fingertips, they become tough & wrinkly & stay that way for DAYS. Plus, I see no discernable relief with it's use. As a child, we used it on my legs for my 'growing pains' & it took the ache away almost instantly. Bruises healed in just a few days, not weeks... This stuff isn't the same. So, what is it?? And what can it be used for? And, more importantly, have I harmed myself by using this? Thank you so very much for your input!! Have a wonderful day!! ** Any other input is appreciated as well!! I have thoroughly enjoyed reading everyone's submissions!
