Soap Nuts Question

I have been using them most of the summer and think they are the

greatest!! I sure wish I could grow a tree in Pa. just for the nuts.

My dh has had skin problems over the past several years and this is a

true blessings and no longer need to purchased laundry detergent of

any type to use for washing his clothing. They clean great and leave

the clothing smelling great also with no harsh smells from the

detergents. I also feel for the price that they are saving me money

to. Donna, Pa.

Lisa,

I have been using Soap Nuts for my laundry for more then a year now

and we are very happy with them. For colors it is perfect as it is.

For bright whites I often add 1/4 or 1/2 cup of Oxygen Powder and they

come out beautifully fresh.

Because I do not use dryer sheets, for fragrance (when I want it) I

use a small piece of cloth or a muslin bag with few drops of essential

oil. Lavender seems to be family favorite, but I do whatever feels

like the fragrance for the day :)

I have used them but I'm not sure if we're using the right amount. I have an HE washer and have been using 4 at a time, and will use those same 4 nuts for about 4 loads. Does this sound about right?

no your abit short i use 8 to ten depending on size also a cotton bag or sock works best and i only use them 3 times than when i get a pint of used nuts i add vinigar and make a spray cleaner with them ofcourse you need to let them sit in viniger for a week lol pat

The way that we have been using them with good results is putting 6 nuts in a muslin bag and then for the next load (depending on how "used up" they are) ether adding 1-2 fresh nuts or replacing 3 - 4 from the bag. Those that we take out, if they are completely "used up" I put in a small muslin bag and use during drying cycle instead of those rubber "fluffing balls"... few drops of essential oil of your choice, and voila!Hope this helps--- On Thu, 11/13/08, Ken Tarr <kentarr wrote:Ken Tarr <kentarr{Herbal Remedies} Re: Soap Nuts Questionherbal remedies Date: Thursday, November 13, 2008, 8:52 AM

Hi Daniela,

Where can I get the soap nuts and Oxygen powder, my grandson has major skin problems and this seems as if it will help.
