Guest guest
I have had what is apparently known as " classic migraine " headaches off and on for decades. They were worse in degree and frequency as a teenager but now I am 40 yrs old and 1 yr past a total hysterectomy. One month before my 40th B-day I changed my diet to a vegan diet. No animal products at all, very limited sugar and the resulting diet is very high in soy products, fresh (locally grown) veggies, whole grains and legumes. I stuck to the new lifestyle like a fiend for the month. Felt GREAT!! Was sleeping better and feeling better every day. Then, for the last 2 weeks (almost solid since my birthday!) I have been having a terrible headache with nausea and weird visual disturbances. It waxes and wanes but never goes totally away. Still on the vegan diet but sticking with the same veggie soup lunch and dinner for lack of desire from head pain and vision problems. Nausea trashes breakfast. Green tea with honey is the usual breakfast. From reading the old posts I have learned that the bowel can cause most headaches. My concern is that there is something ELSE that I am lacking. The bowel movements are usually 2/day and no problem. Would a bowel cleanse help? Is there anything else? I am concerned that the drastic lifestyle change is leaving something out that I need that is causing the problem. I take a B-complex supplement daily. I just don't want to take " regular medicine " . Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you so much, Andi
Guest guest
I would watch the soy products. If you are using processed soy products, such as soy milk, etc. they are not the same as fermented soy that is healthy for you and your intestines. This is serious and I urge you to take a look at this: http://www.ratical.org/ratville/soydangers.html herbal remedies , " mybirthdayisoct23 " <mybirthdayisoct23 wrote: > > I have had what is apparently known as " classic migraine " headaches > off and on for decades. Guest guest
You're welcome Andi. Good luck to you. --- On Tue, 11/4/08, Andi Weller <mybirthdayisoct23 wrote: Andi Weller <mybirthdayisoct23Re: {Herbal Remedies} Re: migraine headacheherbal remedies Date: Tuesday, November 4, 2008, 4:49 PM Well, the soymilk is "milk" that I make at home with a "soymilk maker" and I use soy beans, brown rice and whole barley to make it. Otherwise, I use silken tofu to make other recipes with. I don't use the soy crumbles (fake ground meat) very much because it is not readily available where I live. I use soy sauce from time to time. the bulk of my protein comes from beans: black, northern, kidney and pintos. I eat lots of tomatoes and tomato sauce, salsa and so on. Thank you for the info on the soy products. I did not know any of that.
