Guest guest
Dear Guys, Several people have chastised me for allowing and even posting information on the site about election and politics. I have never done this before. Never! And why am I doing it now. Because our country is truly at risk!!! From an Herbal Viewpoint, we are about to lose ALL of our Herbal Freedoms. I'm sorry if my language seems strong, but I love this country, and I refuse to go down without a fight. If either McCain or Obama get in this country is doomed. Chuck Baldwin is our only chance, and Ron Paul is backing him 100% soooooooo he has my vote. Yours in Knowledge, Health and Freedom, Doc PS. In case anyone hasn't noticed, the country has been going to hell for the last 8 years. McCain or Obama will take it the rest of the way. PPS. If you don't like my stand on this, you are of course welcome to go elsewhere for your herbal data. I will continue this fight, the way I have always fought for Herbal Freedom. Guest guest
Hi Doc, I disagree with you~our country has been going down hill for the past almost 100 years (since 1913 when the income tax was forced upon us), but it is escalating in a downward spiral and we have been losing more ground over the last 16 or so years. If you go back to the first George H. W. Bush, Clinton, and now this Bush, you will see where there has been more government invasion into all areas of life. It had been so gradual prior to this that most people neevr noticed. The government began to get more involved in healthcare in the 1980's, then escalated that involvement in the 1990's and the prices have soared out of control. In 1983 it cost me $20 to go to the GYN for a pap smear. It now costs between $150-to over $200, depending on which doctor you go to! I could afford the $20, but I can no longer afford the cost. In 1983 it cost me $20 to take my son to an ENT, it now costs over $200....wages have not increased 10x's so why has the cost of healthcare? It is ridiculous. Last year, my daughter (18) went to a dermatologist to have a mole removed for cosmetic reasons (right below her bra line on back and it was raised). This doc was very nice, but wouldn't do the procedure unless we signed a consent form to have the mole sent to a lab at the local hospital for testing so that he could not be sued later of she came down with cancer! It took him less than 30 seconds to remove the mole. His office call was $30 for us (we have a $30 co-pay so I do not know what the insurance paid), but we spent $538 out-of-pocket to have the mole tested (well over $200 for the test, and over $200 for the pathologist who read it!) just "to be safe". In fact, we were in essence paying for his "insurance" that we would not be able to come back and claim on him! All we wanted was the mole removed. This ended up costing $568 for a 30 second job.....Tell me this is not ridiculous! And we paid all of this out-of-pocket. Twenty years ago it would have cost us the doctor's visit only. It is ridiculous that doctors have become so afraid of litigation that they are forcing patients to squander hard-earned money in order to save their careers. What a shame. We did not have to sign (he told us he thought the cost would be around $200-$250, he obviously wasn't thinking fo the pathologist costs), but then he would not have removed it for us. Where does this leave the consumer? Then there is the case of compulsory schooling laws becoming more radical with the criminalization of the kids and parents who are "truant". I used to cut school back in the 1960's and 70's, and if I got caught, I got a detention. Now you get sent to a diversion program.... What does that cost the taxpayer??? And the schools have pushed for these tighter laws because they lose money on the truant kids. Follow the money and you will see why we have compulsory laws on schooling. (Notice it is compulsory schooling NOT compulsory education!) My husband is in construction and he pays taxes to every community that he works in (these are local taxes that are getting higher and higher~very extortionary) as we lost over $8000 in taxes to these local communities last year alone. Our city only allows a 1% offset, even though we have paid as high as 2.25% in taxes to some of these communities. These local taxes were few and far between just 20-30 years ago. Yes, our country has gone downhill in the last 8 years, but it has just been a quicker slide than in the previous years so that it has been more noticable. A free people are not burdened with these kinds of taxes. We are no longer free, we are slaves to the IRS and the local communities where we live and work. We are now indentured servants with no way out except by death, and then, you better have your money protected in a trust fund! There are federal, state, social security, medicare, local, city where you work, and school taxes now on your pay stubs, at least here in Ohio. I could go on, but you get the gist. No!!! Do not stop getting political on us!!! We need to stay informed! I cannot believe the people who have Obama signs in yards and on bumper stickers. I so want to go up to them and ask them why they want to vote into office a Marxist Socialist who has 143 days experience and has done nothing of importance while in that office....but I do not want to be confrontational and argumentative with total strangers. Guest guest
I have to politely object to the classification of Obama as a socialist. His ideals are almost entirely in lock-step with the capitalistic republican regime which, unlike democratic socialism, does not encourage regulation or equal opportunity for all classes. It certainly does not protect the interests of those of us who are concerned about the quality of our health or have an interest in herbology/the environment. Despite what he says, the facts have clearly shown that he has aligned himself with McCain's white collar criminals who favor the continuation of class segregation, aka, selective socialism. This fascist ideology is against socialism and against democracy. I will never, never, NEVER vote for a Republican, neither a real one nor one in Democrat's clothing, as long as 3rd party choices exist which support the concept of the free, fair, equal opportunity America I have read so much about. God help us find a person with the cojones to bring this America to reality.
